A Fourth of July thought🤔
At long last, our new American Flag arrived in the mail. After cleaning up the flagpole and attaching the flag, I extended the pole to its full length. As I stepped back to watch “Old Glory” unfurl, I took in the snapping noise it made as the brisk wind brought it to life. A very calm and comforting feeling came over me. We are Americans and we are used to the struggle and strife that life can bring. In these stressful times, you need to focus on what is really important. For me it’s God, Family and Country which are the trifecta of life. Have a great 4th✌️🦅

Movie Night!! This Saturday starting at around 6:30pm The Shed will be screening the epic film “The Yin and Yang of Gerry Lopez” free!!

Leading up to the film some of the wetsuit wizards from will be working tirelessly repairing wetsuits. If you have a hole in your suit Patagonia or not they’ll do their best to patch it up so you can get some more use out of it. That will be from 11-5! 1 suit repair per customer.

A Very special day at The SHED just now. Kevin Kinnear brought Dale Dobson by for a visit just as Skip Frye stopped. Within minutes Tim Bessell and his wife Robin dropped into return a Caster gun SO an all star group of legends gathered together for some serious surf stories and laughs. Missing from the picture is Dane Perlee who was shaping away in his room (never bother an artist when they are at work)! Some solid video was taken by Kevin as well that hopefully I’ll be able to share with all of you so stay tuned⚡️🦅

Killer Baja Bug up in flames at SanO Here’s my theory 🤔

Righteous Baja Bug. Early 70’s. Fuel filter vibrates lose at the connector than a slow drip starts. Engine is hot cuz you just rolled in from SD or OC and those little drops start to cook. You race out all excited for your epic session with out a care in the world. Finally those drops ignite. Just a small little flame But it’s right below the Rubber fuel line coming out of the fuel pump and going into the carburetor. That flame melts through the hose which unleashes a steady stream of gas that fully ignites the engine. The fire follows the fuel pump hose from the engine up to the gas tank in the frunk of the bug allowing the fire to fully in gulf the car. You come rushing in but there’s nothing that be done at this point. Your cell phone is toast so by the time and if a fire truck finally shows up it’s just a smoldering toxic mess. Have a nice day😞🦅

Honored to have Bird and The Shed featured in an article online over at - if you’ve never been to Birds Surf Shed, you need to make the journey. It’s hard to describe unless you’ve been there. It’s an old Quonset hut dedicated to displaying our surf history. A place where the surfboard means the most. It’s our vehicle that helps us navigate through life’s ups and downs and keeps us sane when all seems to be unraveling. Surfing is a gift and we thank you for sharing the ride with us.

Hapoy - we have this incredible restoration from our crib - we had this old beat Skip Frye laying around and challenged Bob to see what he could do with it. When he came back with this we were blown away. The work and effort that Bob puts into his restorations is unreal. This one is up for grabs! Come by this weekend and check it out…if it’s still here.

For sale- New josh hall long fish

Sometimes you need to take a vacation, so Amy and I bailed to Maui to stay with our great friend Neal Norris to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary!
We were picked up by Neal and given the VIP treatment and a brand new board was waiting for me! We grabbed a late lunch at Dukes and took a walk on the beach at Sunset 🌅. More to come as the trip continues. Sounds like we might get a bit of surf too. Cheers to you all! 🦅
