Our Story
The Iranian STudent Association (ISTA) at the University of California, San Diego is a non-profit student-run organization composed of both Undergraduate and Graduate students. Our organization is independent of any political or religious beliefs and/or organizations.
Ever since our inception, ISTA members have been striving to bring Iranian culture and heritage to both UCSD and the greater San Diego Community. In our hopeful attempt to bridge the Iranian- American identity, ISTA has become a face of the Persian community within San Diego and has managed to establish an expansive professional cultural network.
We pride ourselves in the quality of work and events in which we offer. ISTA has become renowned for our large-scale events such as Persian New Year (Nowruz) and Shab-e Yalda. All our events are open to the public.
Our board members hope that all our effort will bring more appreciation and awareness for the Iranian and Iranian-American Community. ISTA welcomes all offers for collaboration with other organizations/ groups.
