SOLE Student Ambassador, Cheyenne Rabadia is in her last year of the MA in Counseling, School Counseling. As a first-gen graduate student, Cheyenne "chose school counseling for many reasons--I not only slowly began to see this is what I enjoyed but I also saw a need to represent South Asians in the educational field, and make mental health less taboo."
Anjanette Maraya-Ramey '12 (MA) and Maraya Performing Arts have partnered with the San Diego Blood Bank for the Winter Arts Festival in City Heights. Anjanette is a 2012 graduate of the Master's in Nonprofit Leadership and Management program. She is the Founder and CEO of Maraya Performing Arts, a performing arts center in Chula Vista.
Fresh off the Filipino Arts & Culture Summit and "The Grunch: A New Children's Musical", Maraya Performing Arts has partnered with the San Diego Blood Bank (SDBB) for its Winter Arts Festival on Sunday, December 17, at Wilson Middle School. The festival will also include a performance of its Filipino-themed production, “Bayanihan,” which explores the Filipino concept of communal spirit and unity. Anjanette Maraya-Ramey '12, Founder and CEO of Maraya Performing Arts, is a Filipino American who has suffered from leukemia; this festival ties together important pieces of who she is.
