North Island Credit Union was proud to sponsor the 27th Annual Lemon Festival in Chula Vista! Did you know that Chula Vista was once referred to as the "Lemon Capitol of the World"? Although the lemon groves are no more, many of the homes in the area have their own lemon trees. 🍋

Thursday at work got a little sweeter thanks to our Ice Cream Social! 🍦 Our employees had the chance to learn a little bit more about our Employee Resource Groups, including Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&l), Women Empowering Women (WEW) and Culture, while enjoying ice cream from Handel's Ice Cream.

Congratulations to our VP of Learning & Organizational Development, Justin Roscoe, on being named one of the "40 Next Top Business Leaders Under Forty" by the San Diego Business Journal. 👏

Justin oversees our efforts for employee growth & development, including developing employee technical skills, interpersonal skills and substantiated career growth. He recently spearheaded a 6-month leadership training program, for which he was recognized as a finalist for the CLN’s 2024 Trailblazer Award.

Our team had the amazing opportunity to hear from Lola Adeyemo, inclusive workplace advocate, TEDx speaker and ERG expert consultant, last week at our San Diego headquarters. ⭐️

Lola led an inspiring conversation on intersectionality, and presented our team with unique insights into how intersectionality and allyship are essential for fostering a truly inclusive workplace.

Through her company EQImindset, she partners with HR, DEI, and people operation leaders to build new communities and leverage existing communities to achieve business success.
