Yesterday our Chief Operations Officer Patty O'Connor was invited to come on FOX 5 San Diego to discuss a new federal program that provides funds for food banks to purchase produce from local farms. Our organization has been building relationships with local farms by partnering with Foodshed Small Farm Distro & Resource Hub, a local farm cooperative, and is already receiving and distributing local produce grown right here in San Diego County.

This wet winter season has taken a major toll on many of our neighbors throughout the county, like Alicia in Spring Valley. Truck Driver Appreciation Week
It's National Truck Driver Appreciation Week! Please join us in sending a whole lot of appreciation to our amazing drivers, like Eddie featured here, who are on the front lines getting food to the people in San Diego County. Every single role at Feeding San Diego is vital to our mission, and our commercial drivers are no exception. They are up with the sun and spend their working hours driving nutritious meals to food distributions across the county. They help set up the mobile pantry distributions in rural areas of the county, like Alpine, and build strong relationships with the volunteers on the ground. It's people like our drivers and volunteers that make our mission possible.

We Met Our Match!
With your help, we met the match! Thank you to all who helped us reach our goal for San Diego Gives. Special thanks to California Bank & Trust for matching gifts up to $15,000. Thanks to 73 donors we raised $39,928, which will help provide nearly 80,000 meals in San Diego County! In its last fiscal year, Feeding San Diego provided 35.4 million meals. Campaigns like San Diego Gives help us have the funds needed to make sure people have the nutritious meals they need.

Del Mar Wine and Food Festival
Next week is the first-ever Del Mar Wine & Food Festival, and Feeding San Diego is the official charity partner. There's one event in particular that captures the spirit of San Diego: the Whispering Angel Celebrity Pickleball Tournament hosted by Drew Brees.
