Wide open tuna fishing for Larry and the guys today. We will be fishing the beach tomorrow looking for yellows.
Down below on our Larry Brown 10 Day and so far we have been picking away at beautiful Yellowfin and Yellows. Going to try a different area tomorrow in hopes for more action on Tuna.
We arrived home yesterday with an absolute stellar catch of Yellowfin tuna and topped it off with incredible Red and Ling cod fishing. We decided to go South on our trip with favorable weather and a great load of bait. The Yellowfin we caught was an incredible grade with the bulk of the fish being 30-80 . Fly line fishing on 80 # test and a 2/0 hook was the preffered method for landing these beautiful fish with some of our stops having wide open style jig fishing and popper fishing. Huge thanks to Mitch Chavira for making this trip happen. We look forward to next year.
The quality of these fish has been incredible!
An absolute stellar day for us on 50-70 # tuna! We will be looking around the coast tomorrow to finish up our trip.
We departed on Mitch’s Bluefin or Bust 5 day and we decided as a group to opt out of the Bluefin this year and try our luck down the coast. So far it’s paid off. Absolutely epic fishing so far for Mitch and the gang to kick start this trip!
We arrived home from out Jim’s Custom Rods 10 Day with an incredible catch of Yellowfin, Wahoo and Yellowtail. It’s been an incredible run of this beautiful grade tuna and we were pleasantly surprised with extremely good Wahoo fishing. We were fortunate to have flat calm weather for the majority of our trip making our fishing that much more enjoyable. Jim Ptacnik hosted this amazing trip providing everyone with a custom wrapped rod and a bunch of other gear they were able to utilize on the trip. Huge thanks to Jim and all of his generous sponsors for making this trip happen.
Traveling up the line in beautiful weather. Last night chefs Kasey and Edward hosted our buffet. From fresh sushi to Tomahawk steaks it was absolutely incredible. We topped off on some reds and Lings this morning before calling it a trip.
147 Wahoo in the bag for Jim and the gang. We are going to try our luck in the beach tomorrow to top off on our Yellowtail.
Another go around on the Wahoo!
Matt Chang with a nice one!
We made a move that paid off big time for us. Incredible Wahoo fishing took place for us yesterday as well as solid afternoon action on Yellowtail. The Wahoo weren’t as eager today but we still managed to put together a nice day on 18-35 # Yellows. We will try it again tomorrow.
The fishing down South continues to be nothing short of amazing. Wide open fishing on straight 50-80 # Yellowfin to start our Jim’s Custom Rods trip. We are making a move tonight and plan on looking for a little variety for the next couple of days.
We are off!
Departed on our Jim’s Custom Rods 10 day trip today with a nice load of bait and a great group of guys. Jim had an excellent giveaway and everyone received a brand new custom wrapped Rod as well as a bunch of tackle they can utilize on this trip!
Some standouts
Very mellow morning for our anglers as everyone has enough fish to take home. We did a few drifts for excellent Yellowtail fishing and now we travel. Tomorrow we will make a few stops along the way to break up the ride. Weather can’t get any better.
Quality mix today with Yellowtail being the best surprise. The group is pretty much all done on these premium Yellowfin so we foucused on yellows for most of the day. Dropper loop and yoyo jigs worked the best and also a few on the sliding egg sinker. Staying put tonight and hopefully we have a similar day tomorrow. Flat calm weather!
Incredible fishing on these dandy Yellowfin tuna. We checked a lot of high spots and banks the last two days for very little sign of the grade we were trying for. Finally this afternoon got into a ripper bite on these big tunas. After topping off on our tuna tomorrow we will try for Yellowtail and a little variety as we work our way home.
After another worthy morning of Wahoo fishing we put the boat on course for the lower banks in search of some trophy Yellowfin tuna. As we travel Chefs Kasey and James prepared a sushi and oyster spread for afternoon snack. Looking forward to tomorrow and what’s to come.
Great Wahoo fishing continues! We left the dock on our annual 10 day Izorline trip hosted by Shauna Barton. After a series of giveaways , seminars, and a beautiful ride down we arrived at the Rocks at around 0800 and got right to work. Steady action all day with some opportunities on 60+lb Yellowfin Tuna aswell. Everyone got to catch atleast one and hopefully tomorrow we can scrape up some more before we head down south to look for some trophy Yellowfin.
We returned home this morning from our 4 Day trip with a full load of Bluefin Tuna. We spent our last couple days chasing down big ones but it was very hard to get bites. We were productive at night for larger grade fish up to 140 . Huge thanks to Steve Tsujiuchi and everyone who helped make this trip happen. We look forward to next year.
With how good Bluefin fishing has been we added another trip right before Thanksgiving that is filling up fast. If you want to hop on the boat and come experience this incredible Bluefin fishing on the Intrepid book now at Intrepid.net.
The night crew…
We have caught all that we wanted on beautiful 30-50 # fish. Now we are targeting trophies to finish up the trip.
Fresh out on our Steve Tsujiuchi 4 day. Weather has backed off and we are currently in a drift plunking away at this beautiful grade Bluefin.
Nice sundowner on Bluefin in flat calm weather!
