"We wanted to do something to repay him, to give back.” With a generous donation to San Diego State University, brothers Ron and Lloyd Dong Jr. honor Gus and Emma Thompson, who helped their immigrant parents settle in Coronado. The Dongs’ gift is a gesture of gratitude to the couple who gave their parents a boost when they needed it most, not only with housing but also helping Lloyd Dong Sr. expand his business. The $5 million donated by the Dong family will go to #SDSU's Black Resource Center (BRC), which will be renamed in honor of the Thompsons.
