On September 14, 2024, The Honor Foundation held its largest Swim for SOF event to date with over 120 swimmers who all showed their grit in an incredible display of athleticism, determination, and camaraderie.
Our participants included THF Alumni, event sponsors, and mission supporters who crushed the challenging 3.3 mile swim from Coronado Island to the USS Midway with two tribute workouts. This event takes countless hours behind-the-scenes and requires a huge amount of support, and we are endlessly grateful to all who make it possible. Thank you to our Title Sponsor Surefox and our Presenting Sponsor Sunbelt Rentals for your continuous support and belief in the Swim for SOF event. To our event sponsors: NextEra Energy, Anduril, GOVX, JPMorganChase, State of Alabama and Rep. Kerry Underwood, EOTECH, Apollo, InSpectre Solutions, SYM Financial Advisors, Bubs Naturals, San Diego Yacht Charters, the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts San Diego, the USS Midway Museum — we greatly appreciate your generosity, participation and partnership. And thank the Navy SEAL Foundation, our Founding Partner, for their continued support of our mission, our organization and the NSW community.
To our Tribe of Volunteers: we could not have done this without you. You were exceptional. To all those who donated special items to our silent auction – your small contribution makes a great impact. To our speakers: RADM Sands, Josh Szott, CEO and co-Founder of Surefox and Shane McKenzie, Director of Veterans and Impact Programs of Sunbelt Rentals—your remarks truly captured the great meaning that this event and community has, and we’re so grateful to you for articulating the spirit of the day in such a beautiful way. Thank you to THF Alumnus Jason Goyanko for your commitment to the event year after year. And to all those who were there and are sharing, tagging, and spreading awareness about this event across your network, we are beyond appreciative for your support.
Save the date for September 13, 2025! In the meantime, stay tuned for more Swim for SOF photos and videos on the way!

“One of the worst days in America’s history saw some of the bravest acts in Americans’ history. We’ll always honor the heroes of 9/11. And here at this hallowed place, we pledge that we will never forget their sacrifice.” —President George W. Bush at the Pentagon in 2008
Today, we join the nation in remembering those who lost their lives and those who sacrificed their own. May we never forget.
