[You and I are Panoramic]

: an exploration of love through a visual language of figures, bodies, landscapes and context.

Diana DeAugustine lives and works in San Diego, California. Her artistic practice focuses on the hybrid art form of tattooing and painting with the intent to move fluidly between both mediums. Her intent is to create an interesting dialogue about the birch panel as skin. Her last series of work “Flow” involved exploring the minimal essence of the surfboard and metaphorical images about the ephemeral experiences in life. Diana’s current painting series “[You & I Are Panoramic]” (solo show at Kava Collective in November 2021) is an exploration of love through a visual language of figures, bodies, landscapes and context.

Diana received her BA (Visual Arts Studio) from the University of California, San Diego (2004) and her MFA from California Institute of the Arts (2010). Selected group shows include Box Scheme, POV Gallery in Los Angeles and Permissions, Highways Performance Space in Los Angeles. She has taken part in multiple solo and group shows locally. Diana has been tattooing for 15 years. She recently sold her tattoo shop of 8 years (Diego Tattoo gallery) and currently tattoos at Buju Tattoo in Mission Hills.
