In a time when our rights to live our lives the way we choose is in jeopardy, we are very fortunate to live in a state that empowers our community. When we opened in Hillcrest almost four years ago, we knew this was a statement…one that required us to be vulnerable and truthful about who we are. We’re here! We’re q***r! But most importantly, just like you, we belong.

My wife and I have been through our share of discrimination and hate. We’ve grown up in environments that forces conformity, whether through religious indoctrination or personal beliefs. We’ve not only worked hard to heal from our pasts, we’ve relentlessly chased the dream of having a safe place for people to make new friends and work towards a healthier/pain-free life. We understand now more than ever that there are so many people that need us…not just for a killer workout, but to be a place of love and comfort to our members, and a warm hug for those working to undo years of damage and heartache from individuals who, instead of being a place of love and support, have in some way failed them.

WE’RE YOUR MOMS NOW.

Because we’ve been able to be authentically ourselves, our community has been able to find us. We spent Pride surrounded by the ones we love most. ❤️

Our hearts are overflowing from the support that we receive from our coaches, members, and community…not just during Pride, but all year round. We know without a doubt we are doing exactly what we were meant to do in this life. We love our gym, we love Hillcrest, and we love each and every one of you.

This Pride season would not have been possible without the help of our amazing team! We get to work with some pretty awesome people, and we are lucky to call them family. Thank you all for being present, eager to help, and just all-around wonderful.

"TransFamily Support Services guide transgender/non-binary youth and their families through the gender transitioning process to help make it the most positive experience possible. We provide family coaching, assistance with healthcare and insurance issues, help navigating the legal system, and support at schools. All services are provided at no fee."

This weekend is a great opportunity to watch the next generation of roller derby! Our sponsored team, the Black Rose Rebellion from Hanover, PA, showed an excellent display of the future of the sport. They skated their hearts out! It was so exciting to see this small town group of kids make big waves here in SoCal.

We couldn’t be more proud of y’all, and we’re honored to be able to support an organization that means so much to both of us (even if we’re now on the other side of the country).

Congratulations to our athletes, Ry-Ry and Andi, for an outstanding performance this weekend at Spartan Phoenix! Andi placed 2nd for her age group in the Sprint in her first ever competitive wave, and Ry-Ry placed 2nd for their age group for both the Super and the Sprint!

We are super excited to announce our partnership with The Out Foundation and our newly sponsored athlete, Kelly!

Kelly has been a member of The Experience and has worked 1-on-1 with Ry-Ry for almost two years. In that time they have branched out into weightlifting and obstacle course racing. This year they plan on doing at least four races!

The out Foundation is a program that ensures the success of LGBTQ+ athletes by removing the obstacles that prevent access and participation in fitness, health, and wellness spaces. We proudly serve the LGBTQ+ community here in Hillcrest, and we are happy to promote and work with an organization that strives to find and create safe spaces for ALL to work towards their fitness and wellness goals.
