On July 9, IHP hosted the San Diego County Aging-In Strategy Collaborative for our network’s FQHCs, IHP health plans, and brokers. Health centers participated in a brainstorming session and discussed upcoming AEP changes with our health plans and brokers.

Health Center Partners of Southern California (HCP) is a premier consortium of 16 primary care organizations, supporting and advocating for our member community health centers (CHCs) who serve the health needs of communities in Southern California, San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial Counties. We work tirelessly to improve primary health care because we believe that quality health care is a right, not a privilege.

The San Diego ACCSIS study team, which includes UC San Diego Health Moores Cancer Center, Health Quality Partners, and HCP member community health centers San Ysidro Health, Neighborhood Healthcare, and Vista Community Clinic, has published new research in Cancer! This study focuses on increasing colorectal cancer screening among low-income and minoritized populations through a mailed FIT intervention. This past week, Integrated Health Partners organized a Medicare Aging In strategy collaborative for our North County Health Centers (Community Health Systems, Inc., Neighborhood Healthcare, TrueCare, Vista Community Clinic). The event, hosted at Neighborhood Healthcare's new admin location in Escondido, CA, brought together the North County health centers, IHP health plans, JAR Brokers, and IHP to prepare for Annual Enrollment Period 2024. Highlights from the meeting included health plan introductions, JAR Broker agency introductions, and brainstorming sessions to strategize for AEP 2024.

Last week, Integrated Health Partners team members joined HQP's North County Field Trip to local community-based organizations including Community Resource Center, North County Family Justice Center, North County Food Bank, and North County LGBTQ Resource Center. The team enjoyed learning about each agency's services, and explored partnership opportunities to help connect health center patients to these valuable resources.

The "Protect Access to Care" initiative is officially on the November 2024 ballot! This historic measure will bring billions in federal funding to California, improving healthcare access and quality for over 15 million Medi-Cal patients. It will increase Medi-Cal provider reimbursement rates and expand training programs for new healthcare providers, addressing provider shortages in underserved areas. At HCP, we're proud to support this initiative to ensure a healthier future for all Californians. Let's make healthcare a fundamental right!

June is National PTSD Awareness Month, and according to the VA, about 12 million people in the U.S. are affected by PTSD. It's crucial to spread the word that effective treatments are available—whether you're a veteran or a civilian survivor of trauma, know that help is out there. Join HCP in raising awareness to ensure everyone with PTSD has access to the support they need.

June is Men's Health Month, dedicated to raising global awareness about male health issues and encouraging the development of health policies that cater to men, boys, and their families.
