We launched the Market Match program at the Outer Sunset Farmers Market and Mercantile earlier this year, helping folks in need of assistance put healthy food from local farmers and ranchers on the table. Now, we need to make sure it's something we can offer for years to come - the Market Match program is funded at the state level by the California Nutrition Incentive Program (CNIP), and it's in danger of not being funded past 2024.

We're joining with the folks at Roots of Change to ask the California Legislature, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and Assemblymember Phil Ting to set aside $35 million for the program to secure it for years to come. It's a program that supports both our neighbors here in the Outer Sunset and the farmers and ranchers who bring our market to life. You can read more about it in the op-ed linked below.

Our friends at Wah Mei School have opened registration for their bilingual 2023-24 school year ACE Afterschool Program! Now in a much larger space at 1555 Irving St, the afterschool program will be adding a Mandarin track to the upcoming academic year, in addition to the existing Cantonese program. Each track will help students develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Kids will also participate in outdoor activities in Golden Gate Park, cooking classes, reading programs, and lots more!
