That’s right, it’s Cut or Uncut - the game show where 1 lucky contestant has to guess whether or not 2 culturally ambiguous men are circumcised by asking them stereotypically Jewish questions!

Just had a surprise visit from former SF BOS member and Jimmy Carter’s Assistant Secretary of the Interior, Bob Mendelsohn. Bob’s wife Ink Mendelsohn was a writer for the Smithsonian News Service, read our write up in The Chronicle, and wanted to share a piece she wrote on Irving Berlin back in 1988. There are some amazing insights on Berlin that I will 100% be including in the show.

Thank you so much Inky and Bob Mendelsohn for the history lesson and the incredible 113 year old postcard included in your lovely note (the stamp has Benjamin Franklin on it!). See you at The Fillmore on Thursday, and I hope you enjoy the show. -MM-

This year’s show is at The Fillmore — the San Francisco venue made famous by legendary concert promoter, Bill Graham. This German-born Jew came to New York as an orphaned Holocaust survivor, found his way to San Francisco, and literally invented the benefit concert and the music festival. Fun fact: he also created the Bill Graham Menorah in Union Square, which started a worldwide trend of giant menorahs in city centers.
