Hi everyone,
As you know, we cancelled our March swap shop due to the restrictions in place over the Covid-19 breakout in Ireland. We've now decided to cancel all future Swap Shop Limerick events for the foreseeable future.
We had always planned on taking the summer off and not running events through June, July and August because we figured either we ourselves or most of our customers would be at one festival or another. However now we are cancelling both events in April and May.
To say we're disappointed would be an understatement. We had such wonderful plans for both months, including a panel talk on sustainable fashion for April (as well as being the anniversary of our first ever swap, it would have also been Fashion Revolution Week), and a festival fashion special swap for May.
We hope you're all finding ways to stay safe and sane, and we will hopefully be back in September for the swap shop goodness!

As we’ve doing some shopping during quar, we thought why not set up our own shop! Follow us now over on Depop to see our menswear, womenswear and shoes 💕 @ Limerick, Ireland

So we were supposed to be having our March swap today but Covid-19 had other ideas! So we thought we'd give ye a little something else today, check our our magnificent new logo and name, Swap Shop Limerick!!

We came up with Swap It Shop It on the fly, and as we've grown we felt like we wanted to identify ourselves with where we started, especially as all over Ireland swap shops are taking off as people become more aware of sustainability in fashion and their everyday lives. Big shout out to our very own Dani for the logo design (she the artist behind our lovely tokens), and thanks to Print Factory for the digital version. We're working on a lovely surprise with them soon, keep an eye out!! And while we're thanking people, massive thank you to everyone in The Commercial and the Record Room for continuing to put us up, miss you guys!!

We can't wait to start running our swaps again once it's safe to do so, and we hope you, our lovely followers, are staying safe and well and taking care of one another. We will see ye on the other side of this!!

Hey folks, we are so sorry but we've decided to cancel this months Swap It Shop It. We've been discussing this for the last few days and really were hoping to go ahead but we've decided that after todays announcement on closing schools and other major events that we just didn't want to put anyone at risk. Stay safe, and we will see you all hopefully at our April swap, which we plan on making extra special

Swap It Shop It is happening in 3 days 🎉 we also have an LIT student coming this Sunday to film the swap shop as part of her sustainable fashion documentary 🎥 If you feel uncomfortable being filmed feel free to let us know and we’ll do everything in our power to make you feel as comfortable as possible 💕

It being that time of year for new resolutions, I have been seriously considering giving up buying new clothes for 2020 (un**es, socks and shoes being the exception). It's been a growing feeling for a while but since we started SwapItShopIt I have felt serious guilt about buying anything in high street stores. In fact, I set myself the challenge in 2019 and except for a few black shirts for work I haven't bought a single "new" item of clothing since. We start this new decade in the grips of an environmental crisis. Personally, I plan on setting myself as many sustainable New Years resolutions as I can achieve. This article by (link below♡) has pushed me to make this goal a reality for my 2020
