"When health is absent,
wisdom cannot reveal itself,
art cannot manifest,
strength cannot fight,
wealth becomes useless,
and intelligence cannot be applied."
~Greek physician Herophilos (335-280BC).
I love this simple video demonstrating FAST!
Why didn't I think of making the cute dots on the pulse points?!
To those who say that NET is not "evidence based," I say... check out the evidence! In this video, I tell you about a 2021 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 112 people with chronic low back pain. The numbers don't lie!

That Grey's Anatomy episode (season 15 episode 22) is still the greatest media depiction of NET ever! Here is my mini-take on it!
Sometimes, it'll do like that...
Which one is "right?"
At a glance, we tend to assume it's the mind, because everyone knows that you should get up off the couch!
But sometimes, the body knows that it needs a rest, and we can't just go go go all the time!
That's where balance comes in.
Take care of your body, and practice mindfulness to still the anxious mind.
A lot of people have forwarded this video of the chiropractor adjusting the giraffe to me, and it inspired me to make this video. Animal chiropractic is some of the best evidence to throw at the naysayers who insist that chiropractic is all pseudoscience and placebo! Are all these animals just getting fooled into placebo effect healings? š¤
Self-compassion is more important than self-confidence. Here is a simple exercise that I call "the doppelganger exercise" which can really help to cultivate self-compassion!
Finally caught up with on Twin Peaks today! It was beautiful up there - sunny, didnāt need a jacket! š
If you have the stamina to stand for hours š¬ you can get standing room tickets to the opera for just $10 on the day of the show! Itās a GREAT deal!
Iām a terrible cook, so I get excited when I can make something that turns out well! Unfortunately, this thing js ugly and I canāt get a nice picture of it, but it tastes great! Itās a great easy summer āsaladā and hereās all the ingredients: 1 cup cut strawberries, 1 cup halved little tomatoes, 1 cup halved little mozzarella balls, 1 cup avocado pieces, 1/3 cup cut basil leaves, some olive oil drizzled, salt n pepper, and the final fancy thing: 1/8 cup balsamic vinegar (reduced down from 1/4 cup). Pinkies up!
A lady just complimented me on my āoverall lewkā ! That doesnāt happen every day! Me keepinā it classy. ššŗš»
Got a message from The Daily Nuggetās #1 fan in Yekaterinburg (Russia)! Mail from the U.S. hasnāt been allowed since the Ukraine war started, so he had to go to great lengths to get a hard copy of The Daily Nugget! šā¤ļø (and yes, he already gets the free email version!)
So excited to have this amazing canvas of ās archangel Haniel!!! Sheās in the waiting room at the office right now. Iām not sure where her āforever homeā will be, but for now I really enjoy seeing her there, and I think visitors will, too. I just canāt get any pictures with my phone that convey the awesomeness and power of this piece. You just have to see her in person!
This is a really cute profile on a chiropractor who takes care of a lot of animals! After more than 30 years around chiropractic and chiropractors, I KNOW that it works for real! And I think that animal chiropractic is some of the strongest evidence out there that it's not "just placebo."

I picked up a TON of great stamps at face value at the stamp show!
Felt āhealthyā today - went on a veggie run. Gotta strike if/when the mood hits! It is good to eat your āfruits and veggies,ā but if you can mentally swap the order to āveggies and fruitsā then you will feel a LOT better!! Itās easy to go for the fruits first because they are sweet and delicious. But the veggies are where the biggest bang for the buck is. (And thatās financially a fact, too, since veggies are usually cheaper than fruits!) Once, I was sitting around in a very grim headspace, and then I forced myself to choke down a huge bowl of Swiss chard. About 20 minutes later, my mood lifted, and I was like āholy crap, I didnāt really want to die - I just needed vegetables!ā š¬š¤·š»āāļø Anyhoo. I added a picture of greenish bananas because they are lower on the glycemic index. Oh, and I recently learned that adding a dash of nutmeg to your greens makes them taste fancy. - and yes, I know that eggplants are botanically a fruit, but they have a strong hypoglycemic effect for me. Also I know that tomatoes are botanically a fruitā¦ but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that they should be legally classified as a āvegetableā because of how they are culinarily used! š® Also how do you like the mood lighting / soft focus of me with the kohlrabi? Also I made beet pickles.
Anxiety tip of the day: open your eyes wide! This is a quick body tip that can help shift the feeling of anxiety to a feeling of curiosity. The eyes wide open face signals the brain to become open to more information - to become curious. (ā¦as opposed to squinting, which lends itself to narrow focus and more anxiety.) I learned this tip from the book Unwinding Anxiety, by Judson Brewer. Highly recommended!
Tragedy has struck at the office!! My pride and joy - my fake fireplace - short circuited or something when I turned it on this morning! So the power light is on but neither the fire nor the heater buttons is responsive when I push them! š I bet it is a reeeeally simple problem - like one single fuse or something - but not readily accessible. And itās 2 months beyond warranty! š¤ I cut out a fake fire from some red paper I found in the drawer. Itāll do for now until I figure out the solution! Honestly, Iām pleased with how the new fake fire turned out. š¬š¤·š»āāļø
Got this sweet message from a fellow chiro today! Thanks ! š
CHIROPRACTIC IS MAGIC!!! (Please excuse the creepy looking picture of my thumb.) So, last week, I kind of screwed up my elbow and maybe my shoulder - for sure my elbow. Sometimes it happens after doing a manual adjustment on a large patient. It was so weak and painful for a couple of days that I could barely do a slow tap on my VR boxing game with that arm. I thought I might have to make an appointment with a specialist extremity chiropractor! It got a little better in the meantime, but still not normal. Anyway, long story short, I saw my regular chiropractor - Dr Matt Colman - today, and he did the usual elbow and shoulder tests on me, and nothing seemed too bad. But then he found that my thumb was subluxated, and he adjusted it. Bam! š„ The noise surprised me, because I hadnāt even noticed that ANYTHING was wrong with my thumb! But as soon as the thumb popped back into place, MY ELBOW WAS MAGICALLY BETTER! āMeh-ā Dr Colman shrugged, ākinetic chain. It was a thumb problem.ā WHATEVER MAN, CHIROPRACTIC IS MAGIC! The whole walk home, I kept moving my thumb around and bending my elbow over and over. I couldnāt believe how much better my thumb felt - even though I didnāt have any complaints about it before - and I couldnāt believe how strong my elbow felt! Jeezus. Do people ever feel like this after *I* adjust them?! Itās the weirdest thing. As a chiropractic patient, my mind is still regularly blown when crazy things like this happen. But as a chiropractor, a lot of the times I am like āmeh. Kinetic chain. Shrug.ā It is the weirdest, weirdest dichotomyā¦ā¦. I am just grateful for chiropractic and SUPER grateful to have such an awesome chiropractor just a few blocks away!!! ššā¤ļø
New San Francisco location! I've suddenly left my little pandemic hidey hole space and returned to a more traditional office situation. Chiropractic Goldilocks rides again! I'm still in the Hayes Valley section of the 94102 - same as for the last 20 years - but now the specific location is 459 Fulton #105 (between Gough and Octavia). š„³
Daily Health Nuggets are here! Well,
not *here* here, because, clearly, Iām not cut out to do frequent updates on my FB Business page! š¬š¤·š»āāļø
But they are going strong in e-mail land!
The Daily Health Nugget is a simple daily health tip or reminder for people who are too tired to read one more e-mail but have to open the box anyway! They include one simple drawing (usually stick figures because thatās the extent of my artistic ability) and some simple text under the picture for people who can/will read more.
Free to all - you can sign up here:

Partial nugget sample below. Oh, and trigger warning, there is occasional nudity. Insofar as stick figures can be perceived as naked. š
This week, in my office newsletter, I recommended Resmaa Menakemās powerful book, My Grandmotherās Hands. When I started reading it about a month ago, I thought, wow, this is right in line with what we talk about in NET (Neuro Emotional Texhnique)! Perfect for the next newsletter! But it is so much more than just a āgoodā or āinformativeā book. There are tons of body-centered exercises to do which help to heal trauma wounds. Whenever I hear about a shooting, racial violence, etc., I always feel sad, angry or sick about it. But, being in the middle of this book when I heard about the Buffalo shooting, I actually cried. (And Iām not a crier!) I realized that the insights and exercises from this book changed not only my mental perspectives but created new spaces in my body as well. I recommend it to EVERYONE in America and EVERYONE whoās had trauma - which is pretty much, you know, everyone! š¬ All humans carry generational trauma. We can stop passing it down the line if we do the work! Thank you so much to for this treasure! ā¤ļøš

Well, I'm goin' in...
The office(s) will be closed until around September 7 while I recover from top surgery! I will probably still not be able to do any intense manual adjusting (which I rarely do anyway). NET Intensives will resume after Sept 7, and some video consults might be available towards the end of August.
Thanks for all the well-wishes and support!
See you on other other side...
Bonus ! I saw my NET chiro (thanks, !) today in Pacifica and took the opportunity to visit another beach! Caught a couple of towards the end of this video, too. ššāāļø
I have to admit... I don't like to "exercise." I kind of hate it. But I love this beach more than I hate those stairs! Love it or hate it, exercise is really important. What can you love that happens to require exericse?
