The Ethnic Studies and Social Justice Collaborative at the City College of San Francisco invites you to a special tribute of the Talanoa Series in honor of the late Lauren S. Muller—Professor and Chair of the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies. We will be joined by Lauren's family, and the evening will feature testimonies, stories, poems, by all who loved Lauren.

The event will be held on Wednesday March 01, 2023, at the CCSF Community Health & Wellness Center Gymnasium from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Refreshments will be served, and parking is free.

Here are a few notes about the evening:
For now, we will just keep the evening open topic. We might bring a theme back later, but presently we are open to all themes.
Until we get the Lit Night site up and running again, you can just email me if you would like to read. You can include the information you know such as the genre and title, but you are welcome to just let us know the night of as well.
Readers will have approximately 5-8 minutes at the mic, depending on the number of readers.

Take a swim and discover Oceania and the arts with IDST 46 with the amazing and truly knowledgeable Dr. David Ga'oupu Matthew Palaita!
IDST 46 is a survey of traditional and contemporary art across Oceania (Pacific Islands). Emphasis on literature, dance, music, visual arts, film, and museums. Using an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural approach, the course explores the underlying unity of Pacific cultures, including their engagement with both western and non-western societies, colonization, and diasporic communities.
This class is also UC/CSU transferable and fulfills G.E. requirements!
IDST 46 satisfies requirements for the following programs:

The Financial Aid Office is happy to announce that the SEFA, the Student Emergency Fund Scholarship application will be opening on Monday, August 15 for the Fall 2022 Semester. This is a $500 grant that will be awarded to students who are experiencing a financial crisis related to rent, food insecurities, utility cutoff notifications, etc. This was previously only awarded one time during the student’s enrollment at CCSF. We have expanded that opportunity to offer a maximum of two awards while attending CCSF.
Criteria for the scholarship:
Apply for financial aid by completing a FAFSA or CA Dream Act for the 22-23 award year.
Demonstrate financial need of at least $500.
Be classified as a California Resident.
Enrolled in at least 6 CCSF units for the applicable term.
Complete the SEFA application found on our Financial Aid homepage under Announcements.
Meet Academic Standing Standards of 2.0 cumulative GPA; and completed 50% of all units attempted at CCSF.
Submit a typed personal statement explaining your financial hardship/extenuating circumstances.
Submit a comprehensive Student Educational Plan.
Provide supporting documentation of the emergency. (Example: proof of eviction notice, utility shut off notification, death of parent/spouse, or other proof of rent and/or food insecurities.)
