Le Marais Bakery

Salut mes amis, We hope you’ll join us this week to come in and taste our new autumn menu at our Buvette wine bar, now serving dinner three nights a week at the Marin Country Mart. We are so delighted to bring the flavors of California and France together in Chef Kosta’s kitchen. It is amazing to me what he is doing with that little kitchen. We just added a new kale pesto dish, which is one of my favorite dishes at home, as well as crab croquettes, and stuffed piqillio peppers with grand-mère goats cheese. It is a beautiful goats cheese, imported from France from our cheesemonger.
The magic of the night at the Mart, as many of the customers come to us and say, is how it is such a Parisian setting. It is a real gem of a bistro with a very well executed, absolutely delicious menu. And we have some great wine selections from Paris and beyond as well.
I hope you will join us one Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night in the yellow café at the Marin Country Mart, open for dinner from 5 to 9 pm. Please enjoy as well a glass of my very favorite Crémant d’Alsace with your entrée, with my compliments.

Très beaux croissants aux fruits de saison baked by Head Baker Angel, in the case this weekend!

This weekend from Pastry Chef Leslie, two cakes and a special cookie! Strawberry cream cake with genoise sponge and fresh strawberries, pictured, and also a chocolate mousse cake with berries and a crème fresh whip, and brown butter cherry chocolate almond cookies. Miam miam!

Grand Croissant 🥐 with — we make our same natural levain, all butter, long fermentation traditional croissants super sized and serve several of them every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at our newest location, our Buvette du Marais at the Marin Country Mart in Larkspur. Buvette de Marais opens Tuesday at Larkspur’s Marin Country Mart, with a menu that includes crepes along with quiches and coffee. It is the newest project from Patrick Ascaso, who owns bakery Le Marais, so naturally there will be plenty of croissants and other French-style pastries brought in fresh daily. Plans are to initially offer baked goods and crepes 8 a.m.-3 p.m., before opening a lounge area and extending hours further into the afternoon. Full breakfast and a dinner menu of what is described as classic French cuisine are expected in the coming weeks.”
