We have over 20,000 items for rent, including dvd's, blu-rays (including 3D), and vhs tapes, and we occasionally sell those things too. Amongst the many changes and updates happening around the store, one to look for is the end of Netflix by mail has prompted reporters to contact me for comment, and there was a KCBS radio story yesterday, and in the SF Examiner online tomorrow and in Sunday's actual newspaper there is an actual article, with supposedly a photograph of yours truly in the shop.
Now adding reviews for my Patreon subscribers!

Netflix discs by mail, R.I.P. This independent local San Francisco based shop, with 27,000 items and growing, has outlived you. Here before you (since 1983!), survived Netflix and streaming, and still here! Look for Video Wave in the press about the official end of the red envelopes as we’ve been interviewed twice already!
Video Wave is happy to announce a new way to support our business and services! Just today we launched a Patreon account, which is designed to help creators and small businesses in the form of small monthly subscription dues. This is more in line with our own subscription based, in-store business model, and is we think a better option than using only GoFundMe, as meeting monthly expenses is our greatest challenge.

This is needed due to the ongoing higher rent being paid to the property owner since November 2022, and despite the increased revenue from price changes and the wonderful support of neighbors, the community and fans through the GoFundMe campaign, additional efforts are needed to keep the doors open.
Loans have been obtained, and additional efforts such as securing business lines of credit or other financing tools are underway. Looking at any and all ways to expand our services and reaching out to you all is just one way we are fighting to stay alive. Thanks for reading!

A couple days after that last post about the nice video piece from San Francisco Standard, I got a call from NYTIMES, they saw it, loved it, put it in their Friday CA digital newsletter and linked to the video. Out of the blue. Again, Mike, thanks! Sfstandard.com
