The Presidio served as a U.S. Army Post from 1847 to 1994. For 147 years, military personnel and their families lived at the Presidio as it developed into the most important Army post on the Pacific Coast. In this photo, General Mark W. Clark, Sixth Army commander honors the 91st Reserve Infantry Division at the Presidio's Main Post on Veterans Day in 1947, then referred to as Armistice Day.

Dear Friends,
I am pleased to announce the reopening of the Presidio Social Club as the Presidio Social Club Exchange on July 2nd. The place I envisioned and built back in 2006 served as a vibrant social place, a haven for comfort foods, and as a popular venue for your celebratory and intimate functions. When Covid 19 forced the closure of my beloved PSC, I mourned the loss of something so dear to me, and I felt the loss of the emotional connection PSC had with so many. You, my dearest friends, were the Social Club.
As the economy reopens, still with the uncertainty of the pandemic, the Presidio Social Club Exchange “PXC” establishes a familiar place and a resource to nourish, sustain and replenish our community. Grounded in a location that was formerly a military base, and now the Presidio National Park, the playful name “PXC” tips its hat to the “PX” or base Post Exchange, where families and service members went to get their food and supplies.
The Presidio Social Club Exchange will be the Hearth and Bakery of the Presidio!
