Happy National Pest Management Month!
This month recognizes our beloved pest management professionals’ hard work and dedication to finding a solution to your pest problems.
Here is how you can observe National Pest Management Month:
1. Pest-proof your home. When you pest-proof your home you protect your family from pest infestation. You can seal cracks around the foundation, replace window screens, replace deteriorated door sweeps, eliminate stagnant water, and remove decaying vegetation.
2. Contact your local pest management company. They can help identify and deal with pest problems in your home.
3. Leave a kind word. Show your gratitude and appreciation for your local pest management company by leaving a positive review.
Wishing all our friends and family a joyous Easter filled with love, peace, and the warmth of springtime renewal.🌷✨
As we continue to celebrate National Women's Month, we will acknowledge some women who have contributed to pest control. Maria Sibylla Merian is celebrated as one of the world's first ecologists. She was one of the first to describe the metamorphosis of insects in detail. Her artwork in "The Metamorphosis of the Insects of Suriname" displays beautiful illustrations of the lifecycle of Suriname's butterflies, moths, and other creatures.

Look what we found! We maintain owl boxes down at the Marina for the City of Brisbane, CA-City Hall. The owl boxes were installed to attract natural predators in the area to help control rodents.
As pest management professionals it is our duty to protect people, property, and pets while minimizing our impacts to the environment. Afterall, we know that ecosystems are self balancing, it’s usually human activity that tips the scales. It’s great when we get to contribute to our natural allies, letting them do what they do in alignment with our goals. We’re so happy to share the result of one of our long time partners initiative. Don McClymond of the City of Brisbane passed away several years ago, among his legacy of good deeds are generations of owls controlling rodents along the Brisbane waterfront. RIP Don

Check out this super interesting video by CBS covering invasive species in Florida! Invasive species have and will continue to be a problem that not only disrupt the natural ecosystem but the livelihood of the people living in these regions. The efforts of each community is inspiring to see them come together to solve these issues.
New invasive species emerges in Florida — a 10-foot-long river monster The arapaima is one of the world's largest predatory fish. Its scales are said to be as impenetrable as armor.
In sunny El Sobrante, Carlos was asked to demonstrate a burrow treatment for some gophers over at an urban farm! It was awesome getting to see how Integrated pest management is not just about pest extermination but the educational process of how to help people. We want to show people that Pestec is more than just another pest control company. Community involvement, education, and sustainability is at our core. But remember! not all “pests” are harmful to our ecosystem. They only become a problem when they negatively affect human life or agriculture. These stinky little guys liked to eat up all the crops which can cause a severe loss of yield at the end of harvesting.

Our Story
The company was founded in 1985 in Contra Costa County by Mr. Luis Agurto Sr. as an owner-operated branch II structural pest control company. He began his journey with IPM in Central America with urban pest management and brought his knowledge and practices to the U.S. as a pest management professional. During the next decade of operation Pestec grew its residential and commercial pest control business in the San Francisco Bay Area. The second generation of the Agurto family is now doing its part to spread IPM across the world.
