Ray is back from his whirlwind trip to Portugal, where he got to visit some incredible olive oil and cheese makers. If you see him at the shop, he will tell you all about it!

Our 20th (!) Annual Fall Harvest food festival takes place this Saturday at Polk and Pacific from 11am-3pm! This free event features so many delicious goodies for you this year. We have 18 incredibly delicious food purveyors tasting their products, from cheese to caviar to chocolate, and then some! We have a prize wheel so you can try your luck to win some tasty prizes. Did you know your wine has been waiting for 9 years? By your wine, I mean the new to the shelves 2015 Chateau Aney Haut Medoc! This left-bank château lies strategically between St-Julien and Margaux, at the epicenter of the great wines of the region where the terroir imparts exceptional quality and provides ideal growing conditions. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, this traditional Haut Médoc is more like what you might remember of the classic Bordeaux styles, not at all cloaked in new wood or over-extracted tannins, the Château Aney has finesse and balance that was surely worth the wait!

Ribera del Duero and Rueda DOs are prestigious wine regions in Spain for red and white wine, with a rich history dating back centuries.They are home to Rueda’s Verdejo, and Ribera del Duero Tempranillo. Ribera del Duero and Rueda are located in Castilla y León, about a 2-hour drive northwest of Madrid. Castilla y León is home to more than 300 medieval castles dating to the eighth and ninth centuries! Ribera is soil made up of chalk, stones, limestone, and clay. Most of Rueda has lime-rich, sandy clay, and rocky soils with extreme growing conditions. These dry wines are complex yet approachable, drink above their price point, and pair effortlessly with numerous cuisines! Give them a try!

We've got a new special sandwich featuring one of our favorite products, ! This is our take on a Cambodian Num Pang sandwich, with fire roasted pork loin, campagne pork pâté, hot mama aioli, cucumbers, carrots, peppadew peppers, pickled onions, jalapeños, and cilantro on soft grilled baguette. Our March Madness of Cheese competition wraps up this weekend with 2 truly fantastic cheeses in the final championship round!
Be sure to stop in this weekend to vote for your favorite cheese. This is the final round, and the winner this weekend will be crowned the 2024 March Madness of Cheese Champion complete with a trophy and all the braggin' rights till next March!
Returning for the 6th week in a row - Gruyère 1655 AOP is the meatiest, most complex Gruyère we've had the pleasure of tasting in a while. Layers of flavor unfold on the palate; with caramelized onion, wild alpine herb, hazel-nuttiness, and mushroom-y umami goodness. The texture is smooth and tight, not as grainy as other aged Gruyère we've tried. 1655 references the year this local cheese took on the name “Gruière” as a proud representation of its region of origin in Switzerland.
Returning for the 4th week in a row - Los Cameros Tres Leches. This cheese is made in the heart of Spanish wine country from pasteurized cow, sheep, and goat's milk. The four Martinez siblings took over the creamery from their parents, who founded the business in 1961. They collect high-quality milk from local farms and make cheese using traditional methods. Their mixed milk cheese uses a minimum of 60% cow's milk, 20% sheep's milk, and 6% goat's milk. It is aged 6 months, during which it is rubbed with olive oil, developing a beautiful natural rind. The paste is light yellow with small eyes and has strong vegetal and peppery aromas. Upon tasting, it is well balanced with a pleasant acidity. It's an endlessly snackable, truly delicious cheese that surprises with a long finish.
