The Woolly Basset
The Woolly Basset was created to celebrate my love for all things yarn!
It’s hat season! Well just about. 😬 I whipped this up in our school’s colors. Pattern by and yarn is Loops and Threads impeccable.
I started this tote bag the week before our trip to the UK and brought all the yarn and supplies in my carryon thinking I’d crochet on the plane. I only did about ten rows the entire trip 😬 So last night I finally added the straps and she’s done. And so pretty! I want to make another with different colors and a size larger. This is the medium.

Yesterday while making yip yips I randomly found this pattern for a dragon scale D&D dice bag. Having two D&D players in the house I had to give it a try. It’s a first attempt and not perfect but Late loves it. I have another yarn I think would look really cool with this pattern and can’t wait to try.

A friend posted a pic of crocheted goldfish the other day and I tracked down the pattern. Goldfish crackers are such a huge part of my kids childhood so I knew I needed to make one. I want to tweak the stuffing a bit but overall it’s adorable.

Can’t get enough of the Mabel and Mama Chickens by Oak & Marlow. I just dropped these off at the Special Education office at our high school. They are going in the Special Day Classes and Learning Center. Two of my kids took Mamas to their Spanish classes too. We ❤️ chickens! 🐓
Loaf cat! So cute and worked up quickly.

Happy April 1st! New months mean new starts and new goals and I am so ready for it.🤩 This year my overall goal has been to try new patterns, new yarns and new stitches.🧶 I want to be a better crocheter and really LEARN the craft. Ive been watching more videos from my favorites like Le Petit Saint Crochet - Elise and Toni Lipsey and have tons of patterns that have been purchased over the last few years waiting to be brought to life.
So far 2024 has been all about plushies with the big colorful eyes. I love them!! I love Oak & Marlow, Kayte-Did's Crafts, Moms Stitchetti, LLC and my kids are loving the pops from Cable + Canvas. Their patterns are all adorable so fun to make. I think I will be in my Plushie Era for a quite a while🥰. But, I look forward to trying some wearables like the Hygge Pocket Shawl by Mason Jar Yarn Designs thats been on my to-do's for a while. I even have the yarn!
So lets see where the next three months takes me. I just turned 51 over the weekend and my new motto is Life Has Just Begun at 51. As my daughter Jane likes to say...Let's GOOOOOOOO!
I’ve been busy tonight! Finished the eagle, duck, and mallard Birdie Pops and a few Itty Bitty Mini Pop mushrooms. They are so fun!

First attempt at a Bluey hat. I didn’t like the way the mouth was coming out so I took out the stitches. Can add it back. Not bad. The eyes are meant to bulge like this in the pattern. If I made it again I’d make them flat I think 🤔 Overall, fun and cute pattern. This is a kids size.

Yarn is Big Twist from Joann
I 😍this bunny! 🐰🐇This is the Original Bunny by Oak & Marlow and was so fun to make.
I used Lion Brand Jiffy yarn for the body and Heartland for the cowl. I’d never used Jiffy before and can’t wait to use it again soon. It’s so soft and squishy and love that it gives a bit of fuzzy halo to the doll. The eyes with brown irises are from Hobbii.
Kate asked me for a new mushroom doll only this time done with blanket yarn. The previous one she had was really small and the dog chewed it up. Quinn the Mushroom is fresh off the hook. Pattern by Critter Stitch using Bernat Blanket yarn
Now that my yarn is organized and I actually know what Ive got to work with its really lit my crojo on fire😍🔥. Two late nights and a nap later I'm finishing up several unfinished projects and wow that feels good! 🤩 Yesterday evening I finished up 4 chickens for my daughter Jane's friend, 2 chickens that just needed details, attached wings to 3 love bugs, and did a bit more tidying in the spare room and my work space. I feel so much lighter and creative now that things are less messy and chaotic. I can walk in the spare room and find what I need! Today Im working on a Quinn the Mushroom for my daughter Kate and some wash cloths. I found that I have several scrubby yarn skeins that could be put to good use. We have a lot of teenage and middle age skin over here. Time to exfoliate!

It’s raining today so I’m organizing my yarn stash. This is…um…part of it. What can I say? I love choices! Yarn sparks all the joy! I’m on a plushie kick right now so have been trying new patterns and different types of eyes. I’m loving the Jiffy yarn from Joann right now too. Super soft and squishy.
My first plushy flamingo! Pattern by Kayte-Did's Crafts. Love it!!!😍🦩
Jane wanted a bug, too. Yarnybox
