I once had a mentor that told “be proud of your progress”, because every step forward is a step towards your goal no matter the size of the step. 11 weeks ago I made a decision, I made a commitment to myself and I took my first step.
I was treading water. I was active, I was working out, but I was not losing weight and I swear my clothing kept shrinking. It’s hard to realize the rut you are in while you are in it. I am quick to find every excuse I can think of to keep me from doing what I know will benefit me. It’s amazing how we justify our own unhealthy habits.
11 weeks ago I said to myself STOP THE BULLSH*T. I started working with a health coach and made my health a priority. I stepped on the scale on day 1 at 250 pounds (the heaviest I have ever been). Today I stepped on the scale and I am 213. I am not yet at my goal but sometimes on your journey you need to look back and appreciate how far you have come.

Monday Motivation! This is my boy . Dude is a huge inspiration and someone I have grown close to over the last few months. Our daughters play softball together, so we have always had solid conversations. This photo was taken yesterday after Sean finished the CIM marathon. If you scroll to the right, you’ll see another photo of Sean before he took control of his health and made himself a priority. Sean has an incredible story and has dropped over 80 pounds! And now able to go out and beast mode a marathon.
A few months back we were sitting on the sidelines of our daughters softball game and I asked Sean how he did it. He told me it was easy but it takes dedication. At that point in time I was weighing 250 pounds, I was pessimistic, doubtful and full of excuses but something inside me said it’s worth a shot….. I am so glad I did. Sometimes we all need a push from someone on the path we want to follow.
