Unlocking creativity at Brookes UK! 🎨 Our Brookes School, Suffolk, UK students have been diving into mixed media art, inspired by the innovative techniques of Jim Dine, an American artist and poet known for his contributions to the formation of both Performance Art and Pop Art. We're all about bridging classroom learning with real-world inspiration!
Our older Brookes Westshore students had the chance to recharge before the busy end of year exams with a trip to the picturesque Ocean Village Resort in Tofino. Surfing in the Pacific Ocean, cozy campfires, and marshmallows under the stars made it a memorable highlight. Balancing the demands of the IB program with meaningful connections with each other and their environment is crucial for our students.
A group of Brookes Westshore Grade 11 IB Diploma students had the opportunity to visit Royal Roads University (Canada) Department of Sustainability to tour their facilities and hear learn from professors and graduate students about the laboratory and field work that is ongoing there.
The focus was on careers in sustainability, and how issues of sustainability will be integrated into a wide diversity of fields as we move forward in society. It was a great opportunity for Brookes students to see what university science facilities are like, meet experts, consider careers, and build relationships for potential volunteer and service opportunities.
Now, step into "UK's Classroom". Brookes School, Suffolk, UK took their learning from the classroom outdoors for their GCSE Geography coastal fieldwork. Year 10 enjoyed a glorious day at Felixstowe. They were measuring and assessing the effectiveness of the sea defences.
Step into "Canada's classroom" at Brookes Westshore(Canada), where learning extends beyond the walls! Grade 5 students recently explored Muir Creek Beach in Sooke, connecting their studies with the 25-million-year-old fossils and geological wonders of the area. They saw how the ocean's gradual erosion unveils ancient life forms, previously hidden within the cliffs and rocks. We love to see students connecting what they are learning in the classroom with real-world examples.
Recently, our Brookes students participated in the Model United Nations in Istanbul. Brookes Moscow International IB World School in Moscow, Russia students undeniably demonstrated exceptional prowess on the international stage, competing against university students and graduates. Their achievements at the awards ceremony spoke volumes as students brought home five awards: Two Special Mention Certificates (Preston - Delegate of Sweden, and Abeer - Delegate of India), Outstanding Delegate (Ojasya - Delegate of Mexico) and the Joint Crisis Committee Best Delegate Honor (Elisa - Delegate of The Russian Federation).
In a culmination of our collective efforts, Brookes secured the esteemed overall award for the Best Delegation at the conference.This success reflects the dedication and commitment of each team member.
We love to watch students exploring learning beyond the confines of the classroom, embracing creativity and diverse approaches. Fieldwork lies at the heart of our Brookes School, Suffolk, UK geography curriculum. At GCSE level, students are required to partake in two fieldwork days. Alex, originally from Canada, began his journey at Brookes Westshore as a day student six years ago. This year, he successfully completed his studies and is set to embark on a new chapter at the University of British Columbia, pursuing a degree in Kinesiology.
Throughout his time at Brookes Westshore, Alex displayed exemplary leadership as a valuable member of our senior boys' team, propelling them to the Provincial Championships. He seized every opportunity to make the most of his academic pursuits and engage in extracurricular activities. Despite being a local student, Alex actively sought connections with our international student body, allowing him to gain insights into diverse cultures. At Brookes, we are incredibly fortunate to have campuses located in perfect locations for outside learning! Nestled in the heart of Breckland Brookes School, Suffolk, UK Year 7 students seized the opportunity to embark on a captivating Geography field trip, reinforcing their classroom learning through hands-on experiences.
First stop was Castle Hill in Thetford, an exceptional early motte and bailey castle. This historical gem perfectly aligned with our studies on the Norman conquest and the profound impact it had on England. Students immersed themselves in the rich history surrounding them, bringing their lessons to life. Students then headed to Santon Downham for a geography-focused adventure. Here, the young geographers honed their skills as they explored and studied forest succession within the picturesque surroundings.
The day was nothing short of wonderful, filled with curiosity and discovery, thanks to our fantastic students. We are proud to witness their eagerness to learn and their ability to connect classroom knowledge with real-world experiences.

Brookes Education Group bids farewell to our exceptional Brookes Moscow Year 13 students. These remarkable individuals comprise the second graduating class in the history of the school and have left an indelible impact on the school community. Fresh from completing their DP examinations, the students, accompanied by their families, gathered at the school to commemorate their graduation with heartfelt speeches from both students and teachers.
Later that evening, the Year 13 Prom took place aboard the Radisson Cruise, providing an opportunity for students and staff to come together one last time and reflect on the cherished memories they have created throughout their time at our school.
