Earlier this month, our fellows and volunteers teamed up for a fantastic 2-day project! π€
For day 1, volunteers helped create a rain catchment system that would not only capture rain from the roof but also water any nearby plants and compost bins. They also helped sheet mulch near our composting area to reduce runoff and suppress weeds.
For day 2, they learned about Urban Greening while working on our urban garden. πͺ΄They created a living wall from a shoe rack, used old pallets as planter frames, assembled lattices and trellises, and planted new greenery!
A huge thank you to our donors and volunteers for making this possible. We now have a brand new rain catchment system and 4 awesome vertical gardens! π₯³
