Staff Development Day
In February, we celebrate Black History Month, a vital period for recognizing and appreciating the vast contributions of African Americans. It's a time to reflect on Black individuals' significant impact in shaping music, arts, literature, sports, and politics. We honor trailblazers and heroes who have played crucial roles in our nation's history and acknowledge their struggles and triumphs. This month is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the African American experience and its integral role in our nation's history.

A message from Principal McNeil:
Greetings James Monroe Community,
PBL Sharing Morning is Tomorrow! Don't miss it!
Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 24th is our Monroe Annual PBL Sharing Day. This is the day we invite our community into classrooms, and students share the projects that they are working on. Students are very excited to share their learning with you. I hope everyone can come be with us from 8:15--9:00am tomorrow morning. We will start in the MPR with coffee and doughnuts at 8:15am. I will present a short welcome and overview of PBL in the MPR, and then we will move into classrooms.
This is typically a very well attended event. Don't miss out on this opportunity to engage with your kids in an academic environment. Please come support your children, and show up for this wonderful event! Doughnuts and coffee while they last!
π Don't forget that afternoon we have the third grade BAKE SALE, to support the Ohlone Native American Tribe (the first people to inhabit San Leandro.) It will take place AFTER SCHOOL, on the lawn. Bake sale will be moved to the MPR in the case of rain. Last year the bake sale sold out, and made $1,000.00. They donated the money to Ohlone organizations. This is part of the third grade Project, learning about our local community.
See you tomorrow morning at James Monroe!
