An undisputed revolutionary of jazz, Charlie Parker, often referred to as Bird, pioneered bebop, becoming a symbol of the Beat Generation and the idea that art and literature were more than entertainment; that they were a reflection of social expression.

Bird in LA, is an interesting glimpse into the development of Charlie Parker as jazz master. While the recently released audio source material is uneven, the inspiration and feel of bebop comes across loud and clear.
