It’s the start of a wonderful holiday season here in San Luis Obispo and our team here at Sloco wants to wish you time to find space to rest, reset and recharge during these next couple of months! ✨

To encourage those healing vibes this season, we have some special hours to give you all, our amazing community, a chance to rejuvenate during the holidays. 🤩

We will be open Monday, November 20th through Wednesday, November 22nd from 8AM-6:30PM (WHAT?! Sloco’s open on a Monday?! We know, we’re excited, too 😜) We will be closed Thursday, November 23rd through Sunday, November 26th.

But wait, there’s MORE! Starting on November 27th, Sloco will officially be open to 7 DAYS A WEEK! 🥳 Monday’s-Friday’s we will be here from 8AM-6:30PM and Saturday’s-Sunday’s we will be here from 10AM-3:30PM 🎉

Did you know that a shocking 700 million plastic laundry detergent bottles end up being thrown away each year! That’s why here at Sloco we use a plastic free alternative for our laundry detergent bottles. This not only helps reduce the amount of plastic that we use in-house but it helps reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in our landfill! ♻️

It's a sunny summer here in San Luis Obispo! This means hiking, adventuring and splashing around at the beach! All the things that we love about living in SLO County come alive in the midst of the summertime sunshine. 🌞

As a community, we all love being able to go to our favorite places and it breaks our hearts to see them littered with trash. Here at Sloco, we are taking part in National Clean Beaches Week to help mitigate the trash on our coastline and keep SLO County as beautiful as ever and we need your help! We need YOU to help us clean our beaches. Help us detox the beach and we will help you detox yourself! ✨

Share a photo or video of yourself taking care of our beaches by cleaning up litter, debris or any other trash that shouldn’t be on our coastline, tag us and you will be entered in to win a complimentary Whole Body Detox from us here at Sloco! It’s a win-win situation! Contest runs from July 7th through July 14th and we will announce the winner on July 15th. We can’t wait to see how clean our beaches can be! 🌊

As an environmentally conscious business, we strive to do better everyday for our planet. One way we do this is by reducing the amount of plastic that we use in our space by swapping them to eco-friendly alternatives. We reuse glass cups for our guests instead of single-use ones, we try to only have plastic-free packaged products on our shelves and we even use plastic-free laundry products to wash our towels and linens! Not only does Sloco as a business go plastic-free, but we encourage our staff and guests to do the same! 🌿

This year, we want to encourage YOU to join us in taking the challenge for a Plastic-Free July! This year's theme is “small steps, big difference!” and it is so true! Small steps that we all make in our day-to-day lives really add up to make a huge impact for our streets, our ocean and our planet. This can be as simple as drinking from a reusable water bottle or bringing your own bag when grocery shopping. 🛍️

Here at Sloco, we love and value supporting members of our community through donation-based days that can in-turn be donated to great causes! R.A.C.E Matters SLO is a Black-led multiracial organization that has made an impact on SLO County by creating Black-centered spaces and cultural content for our area. They also host conversations on important topics on racial and social justice, and have collaborated in SLO Film Festival, SLO Museum of Modern Art, Universal Pictures, among so many others to help bring more arts and culture into SLO County.

Earth Month is upon us! This precious planet that we get to call home deserves to be celebrated every day but it makes us so happy that we dedicate this time in Spring to celebrate, nurture, raise awareness and advocate for our sweet Mother Nature just as she cares for us. ✨

This year's theme for Earth month and Earth day is “Invest In Our Planet” which guides us towards a “partnership with the planet”. So, this year, Sloco is partnering with to give back and invest in our planet and we need YOUR help! We are adding another Name Your Price Day for our Express Wellness Services on April 18th, and the proceeds that we make from this day will go to ECOSLO to support them on their mission to protect and preserve San Luis Obispo County’s natural resources by ways of educating, advocating and taking action!

As the weather changes, it may be hard to think about jumping into negative temperatures, but it may be one of the keys to keeping your mood up for those who struggle with Seasonal Affective Disorder.

This is a topic we don’t take lightly, but we love to highlight mental health here at Sloco and of course offer resources to our community.

Studies have shown that these treatments including meditation and light therapy does in fact help improve symptoms of SAD.
