✨Lauren Chertudi ✨
CSM Professor: Lauren Chertudi’s classes are founded on movement for all; she focuses on providing classes adaptable for all ages, abilities, and experience. Lauren uses anatomy, body awareness, and classical dance principals; to focus on finding challenge at any level, in any style of class. From years of performing classical modern work, post modern masterpieces, and contemporary new works; she creates a technique that honors the past while trying to push forward into the future.
Whew… the show was a success!!! All the dancers danced their booties off, the audience was full and cheered us on, and we all felt like boss applesauces after it was over. Thank you to everyone who came to support us! Thank you to all the guest artists who brought amazing dances to share! Thank you to all the behind the scenes people! Thank you to all the CSM Dancers who brought this show to life. THANK YOU!!! ✨🥰🫶
✨Denaya Dailey✨
Denaya is a professor at CSM and heads CSM Dance. She has had a long and loving relationship with movement. In her classes, she helps students to challenge themselves, push their limits, and open themselves up to new and lofty ideas and accomplishment. Her students find themselves doing things they never knew they could do and reaching higher than they knew they could reach while developing their confidence and personal voice. Through her career, she has danced with many prominent dancers and choreographers worldwide. Denaya absolutely loves teaching dance, yoga, and Pilates. She holds an M.F.A. from Mills College and a B.F.A. from UCLA.
✨Caitlin Webster✨
Caitlin has been dancing competitively and for fun since she was 5 years old. She started in ballet and progressed to competing internationally in Irish dancing for most of her childhood. After tragically getting injured and needing hip surgeries, she stopped and didn’t dance for most of high school. Dance 400 at CSM and it’s wonderful community has been instrumental at bringing her back into the world of dance. Now she loves modern dance and exploring emotion through movement. Caitlin plans to get a degree in ecology and to work to save our oceans.
✨Bryanna Fisher✨
Bryanna is excited to continue her dance training at CSM! Having danced locally for 15 years with a focus on Jazz, Ballet, and Modern Dance, she aims to expand her knowledge and technique in order to become a better artist. The dance program at CSM has introduced her to wonderful people and exposed to new perspectives and styles that push her to become a stronger performer. Bryanna aspires to be accepted into the Lines Ballet program at the Dominican University of California.
✨Dominique Tatum✨
Dominique has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She started at American Dance of SLO, before going to Westlake School for the performing arts, and ended at Kirkpatrick’s school of dance and Beresford Recreation Center. Dominique was a competitive dancer in high school, which led to her being at CSM before transferring to Menlo College and making their dance team. She is now pursuing her AA in dance at CSM.
✨Toby Frank✨
Toby is a music and theatre arts double major. This semester has been solely focused on returning to one of his favourite activities- dancing with amazing people. He has several years of dance training under his belt, but this is his first semester back since quarantine started! He has been receiving training since he was only 14 years old and has loved it immensely over time. His favourite types of dance are jazz and social dance. He hopes to be dancing in both musicals and dance showcases for as long as he can. His highest aspiration is to make people happy. Toby hopes this showcase has a positive effect on its audience.
✨Serena Chin✨
Serena Chin (she/they) is a second year dance major at College of San Mateo. Serena took her first dance class when she was 5 years old at Westlake School for the Performing Arts in Daly City, CA. She trained classically and competitively for 12 years in ballet, tap, contemporary, and polynesian, but has also done modern, lyrical, and jazz for around 2 years. In their senior year in high school, she joined the school’s hip hop team adding hip hop to her list of dance types. During quarantine, Serena started learning Kpop choreographies and joined a Kpop dance group, Kpop-Up, in San Francisco for a year and a half. In Spring 2022, she joined a contemporary company, NewGround Theatre Dance Company, with Artistic Director Coleen Lorenz. Out of all the dances they’ve trained in, contemporary is definitely her favorite. To be a part of CSM Dance means being in an environment that’s positively challenging as she learns how to lead, choreograph, and bond with her fellow classmates. Serena currently hopes to get accepted into California Institute of the Arts or USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance in Fall 2024 to continue her career as a dancer and choreographer.
✨Nataliya Bondarenko✨
Nataliya is a dancer that has a been dancing for seven to eight years, she has done different kinds of various styles of dance like Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop. Nataliya has been in various competitions and conventions. She started dancing at West Coast Dance Conservatory. Nataliya's favorite types of dance is Contemporary. So far her favorite memory of being at the CSM's dance group is that she gets to meet new people and gets to learn something new. Nataliya is currently studying Business Administration.
✨Kou Yang✨
Kou Yang, surfer, climber, biker, dancer, singer, a Jack of all Trades. Started out as a B-Boy in the early 90's but discontinued due to injury. As a challenge to overcome his fear of dancing, took Dance in 2012 and immediately fell in love with it. Versed in Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and Hip Hop. Dance is a form of self mastery that he hopes to continue learning and creating from here on.
✨ Alicia Martinez ✨
Hello! I am alicia and I come from a dance background of mostly modern dance, however I have also done tap jazz and a tiny bit of ballet. Modern dance owns my heart and I think it challenges what we previously knew classic dance to be. Being apart of CSM dance feels like a really nonjudgmental place to experiment new moves, explore new dance styles, and express yourself. I am on my last semester to complete my Associates degree for psychology but I hope to move locations to pursue modeling! We’ll see what the future has in store.
✨Ella Kedem ✨
Ella Kedem is so happy to be a part of the CSM dance community. She danced in musicals all through her childhood and feels the most empowered when she's moving. Her favorite styles of dance are Jazz and Contemporary, though she's happy to try anything! Being a part of CSM dance has been an outlet for joy, connection, and creativity. Her favorite part is pushing the boundaries of her capabilities while being supported by the kind teachers and students.
✨ Jasmine Sebastian ✨
hello im jasmine! i have been dancing for ten years now. im currently dancing at CSM and also still currently dancing at my dance school, Westlake School For The Performing Arts. i’ve participated in activities such as being a part of the Nutcracker and competing at competitions. ive done ballet, hip hop, jazz, and modern. my favorite dance style is modern! my favorite memory is being able to learn from different people! im currently studying psychology and i see myself helping others!
✨BRITTANY GILMORE ✨
Brittany Gilmore is a musician, artist, singer songwriter who simply loves to move and dance. She grew up dancing modern, jazz and tap and has come back to dance as an adult and specifically loves modern dance.
