Thoughts and prayers to Cornell Rasor and his family as well as the other businesses affected by the Army Surplus fire. Lots of history in that building a big loss for Sandpoint. A double edged sword the fact that we don’t make them like that anymore.
So many reasons to be grateful in 2023! One of the many was the opportunity to try and capture the beauty of both sunrise and sunsets from Schweitzer mtn. Although I may have failed at posting more photos of our projects we didn’t fail at taking time to take in the beauty of north Idaho and Montana.
Happy New Year!
Some photos from fall 2022. The weight of the “pandemic” finally hit on this one. Lost a few good subs, made new connections. Grateful for all the lessons late, lost, missing incomplete and messed up!

We were excited again to work with designer Regina Lathom and some amazing clients with great taste…
We were all able to share in the excitement of building during “Covid”. Actually completed two different remodels with these clients and one large deck between 2020, 2021 and 2022 more to follow.
Hey its been awhile! Here is a bit of what we have been up to. More to follow. Happy 2023!
Hey North Idaho a reminder that the snow is getting really heavy with these rains. If you have a roof with two foot or more of snow its time to start shoveling. Low slope roofs or flat roofs and decks need significantly more attention.
Structural damage from snow loads is often not seen until the following snow year which results in visible structural damage or collapse. Snow weighs on average 15-20+ pounds per square foot for frozen or packed snow. Heavy rains significantly increases that along with ice that has already formed from previous melting thaw cycles common to north Idaho winters. Although snow load requirements have been increased over the years older homes have had a bit more wear and tear and should get extra attention. In most areas the snow load requirements of newer homes is 50-55 pounds per square foot.
Tips- When shoveling use a plastic shovel and it is best to leave a minimum of 2" inches of snow on the roof. This will help prevent damage to composition shingles or metal roofing, leave ice that has formed on a composition roofs as this can often time travel under shingles and removal will damage shingles. Valleys & roof penetrations where pipes or vent require extra care don't be afraid to leave a bit more snow to be safe. If you have a membrane roof the process is the same with the exception of parapet walls. Do not shovel into parapet wall corners as sometime membrane is floating or can be setting off of roof substate and a shovel can easily puncture the membrane.
Decks- Always use a plastic shovel to ensure you will not damage wood or composite decking materials. Composite decking manufacturers will void warranties if metal shovels are used.
Insurance- If you are hiring folks to remove snow check your homeowners policy as well as verify that they are insured having general liability & workman's compensation on their employees for both you & their protection.
Compensation- You can plan on paying $25-75 per hour per laborer depending on overhead and ability. Some outfits will provide a written quote. In most cases it is fair to both parties to work by the hour. It has been our experience that we want to get off of a roof as much as a homeowner wants us off a roof.
If you have any questions or are needing help assistance please message or call and we will try our best to respond.
Be Safe & Happy New Years!
Thanks to everyone who applied. We have filled the two positions we had available. We will be hiring again this spring.

One of our favorite sites to work on. We have worked off and on on this site for over 4 years. Existing bunkhouse has been removed making way for the new guest house. It's that time of year... or past that time of year... blankets are out. This is what 1900 square foot & garage plus over dig looks like. 3800 s/f guest house is coming along. Its been a full week of moving & rerouting existing utilities for lake home & boat house power, sewer, water & natural gas.
So very true. Happy summer 2019!
Round two.... Better late than winter. Excited great project, great location and even better clients. More to come.
La nui!
Life is good!
This is what we have been up to... panalized walls ready for lift. Plumbed and lined trusses set and sheeted. Views! Site planning. More concrete forms please! More lake views. Rain canceled festival but Evans Brothers booth had things under control. Final an XBeam. Harrison lake hike. Happy summer 2019!
Footing is poured. Party at Spokatopia. Great week even better weekend.
Getting ready to pour footings tomorrow with stem walls starting Monday. Hope your fourth was as amazing as ours. Mcall puts on a nice show.
Infrastructure is in! Avista placed our natural gas and electric this last week. One Step Enterprises finished septic system as well as trenches prior to Avista. Driveway is in with well scheduled for next week.
Alright, most accurately guess the price of this load of cedar deck fascia and get a $20 gift card for your favorite coffee shop. If you guess length and quantity I'll drink a cup with you! How's that for incentive!
Hiring experienced framer(s), call or pm for interview and we can discuss qualifications. (208) 610-3499
It's that time of year! Suns out! Decks, decks and more decks, homes, homes and more homes, and garages, more garages and remodels and more...
Our loss is your gain... starting a project in North Idaho in October didnt allow us to landscape prior to the changing of the season.
FREE MUD! You haul! Colors range from light brown or "Milk chocolate" to "dark 90% Cocoa". We have found that this particular mud is all the rage among wives/girlfriends and house cleaners they cant stop talking about it which leads us to believe others wont touch this quality! It sticks to anything! Car washes and laundromats have long ago recognized it as a cash cow. Now is your chance to own some of your own.
Limited to what is available at our locations for a limited time only. Did we mention its Organic? This wont last long, they are not making anymore of this stuff.
Call for more information! Happy spring North Idaho!
Alright, this weather is gonna change, it always does, be careful what you wish for its north Idaho! Currently remembering one of my favorite projects. Feb 2016
