🚤 NEW THIS SUMMER! The Lakeside Wooden Boat Society has planned two Gilligan’s Island Adventures on July 17 and Aug. 7, weather permitting.

Climb aboard a 38’ Chris Craft for an adult-only cruise to Kelleys Islands. Guests will enjoy a “3-hour tour” on Lake Erie, dine at a waterfront restaurant on Kelleys Island, and participate in fun based on the popular 1970s sitcom “Gilligan’s Island.”

One of our guests learned that today is innkeeper Wendy's Birthday, and he ran to get flowers before breakfast! We are so fortunate to always have the most lovely guests!

Innkeeper Wendy did the sailing program with her 5 siblings, many moons ago! It is great at not only building skills, but also building confidence and friendships!

Good day folks!! Community Sailing for the kiddos is back!! Do you have child(ren) that would love to take sail on Sandusky Bay next month? Kids will be able to experience sailing on the bay while learning the benefits of living on the shores of Lake Erie. The program, hosted by the Sandusky Junior Sailors, aims to help make participants more comfortable on the water and to feel proud of where they live.
Parents/Guardians will be responsible for the transportation of this program for your child(ren), getting them there and picking them up promptly. Program starts at 10am-11:30. Parents will need to fill out a waiver upon arrival at the Sandusky Sail Club located at 814 E. Water Street, Sandusky Ohio 44870., so it is suggested to arrive by 9:45 so that the program can begin promptly. Easy Peezy sign up for this fantastic experience is open NOW so get em registered at www.cityofsandusky.com/recreation. These spots will fill up quickly! And did I mention, this is a FREE program?!!
Spaces are limited to 12 sailors per grade group.
K-2: July 1 from 10-11:30 am

GARDEN TOUR coming up!
The Old House Guild of Sandusky will host a GARDEN TOUR on Sunday, June 23rd, from Noon – 5:00 PM.

8 (possibly 9) gardens will be included in the tour. Every garden is different, with some gardens showcasing small, unique creations, and others created by Master Gardeners.

Tickets will be on sale ($10 per person) through a few local garden stores, online at OldHouseGuild.org, and at the Cooke-Dorn House, the day of the tour.

The Cooke-Dorn House will also have refreshments and door prizes; and the Friends of the Sandusky Greenhouse will have plants for sale at donation prices.

The Lake Erie Islands are on the path of totality. What will the sky look like during the eclipse? The sky will turn to night, but not pitch black. It'll look like twilight with a glowing horizon. 📣 The 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio run course is official! If you have joined us previously, this course will be very familiar. The 13.1 mile, two loop route will start at Paper District Marina and meander through charming downtown Sandusky. Triathletes will experience a flat and fast course with an approximate elevation gain of less than 130 feet and all the crowd support they could ever want!

Weekly, we make time for walks at many of the beautiful metroparks in our area. Today we enjoyed the Castalia Quarry walk. If staying a few days with us, we highly recommend taking time for walks at the quarry, Sheldon's Marsh, Hoffman Forest, Edison Woods, and Schoephle Garden.
