Dontaye For Mayor
My name is Dontaye Carter. I am seeking to become the third Mayor of the City of Sandy Springs.
It’s taken some time but it warms my heart to see the community we’re building in and across Fulton County. My day Monday is starting in my own backyard before I head south. If you want to get into some , we’re starting at Dunwoody Springs Elementary.
Y’all… 👀👀👀👀👀
I received a message from my daughter’s teacher. She knew I was traveling for work and asked if I’d still be able to make it today as the class mystery reader.
I was tired, but y’all knew Pooh Daddy was coming.
Sending up prayers for the Carter family!
🦃 Join us this Saturday at noon for a Turkey drive and Hot Plates! Spread the word and share the warmth. 🍽️

Still one of the most powerful lessons from my mother. Thank you to my parents and every veteran that fought for the freedoms that this Country represents. Thank you for those still fighting to ensure this Country lives up to every word written in the constitution.
Student: “How do you keep getting these folks to come speak to us?”
My response: “I just call and ask.”
Student: “you mean, you just call and they come?”
Me: “kinda.”
I can't thank my bro, Gerald A. Griggs, for coming to speak with my boys club group early this morning. We talked about how to introduce thenselves, what they wanted to be when they grow up, and how to get there.
You can be what you see. I'm grateful to be apart of that vision for them.
I saw my TikTok followers jump up last week while I was out of town traveling for work. One of the fourth grade boys walked up to me Friday as school started and said, “we on your TikTok.” And another gave me the “Goku” stare down before smiling and letting me know he’s looking forward to our ‘Boys Club Fridays’.
These young brothers don’t know how much they keep me energized. I’ve been talking to many of the community leaders about us learning to communicate on their level to help them see our vision and creating expectation.
It meant the world to hear they were following me on TikTok because I know they are now getting a different vision of what success in our community looks like and the fact that another student told me that he’s looking forward to Friday shows they’re expecting it. We haven’t been at it long but to see the seeds bloom is so inspiring.
It’s meant the world to me to write this book alongside my daughter, Kyleigh. Narratives are powerful and I hope to change the lens in how we view fatherhood.

This is impact! I can’t thank the Atlanta-North Georgia Labor Union enough for showing up for our babies. I heard so many great things from the community about all the books they bought and gave away for free. Kyleigh took full advantage as well.
📚❤️ Thank you, KidlioMag, for taking the opportunity to speak with Kyleigh and I about our journey to becoming authors.❤️📚
It fills my heart with joy to see Kyleigh sharing her story with her friends and spreading the message of love and family that "My Daddy and Me" stands for. 🤗✨
Thank you to all who have supported us on this incredible journey. I’m so proud of my little author and the positive impact she's making. 📖❤️
To all my friends observing Yom Kippur, may you and your families have a meaningful fast and day of reflection. G’mar Chatimah Tovah!

I spend a lot more time in meetings now than I ever have, but I’m excited about working to ensure that our students have the resources needed to reach their goals. In the streets, in the suites, and in these classrooms we’re getting to work.
This has always been about the kids. I’m proud to serve as a member of the School Goverance Council in Fulton County. Elementary to High School we’re getting in to some
