The incredible generosity of Dr. Tim Newman and his wife Sylvia
blessed the Neuroworx sponsored junior wheelchair basketball program AGAIN!!! Their $30,000 donation will propel the Utah Rush into another season of competing for a national championship. More importantly, for the individuals participating on this competitive level, college scholarships make it possible to become Division 1 athletes and Paralympians.
This is the second season the Newman's have contributed to the personal and educational futures of young people from 8 to 18. They are wonderfully amazing. Thank you Tim and Sylvia!!!

Please meet two amazing people and families. Brian Maynard (left) experienced a spinal stroke in Dec. of 2022 resulting in neck-down paralysis and dependency on a ventilator. Rebecca “Becca” Farewell (right) also has significant total body paralysis with vent-dependency due to a skydiving mishap in July 2021. Individuals with these types of injuries are often cared for in skilled nursing facilities or long term rehabilitation centers. However, Brian and Becca’s parents have elected to care for them at home. It is a daunting duty fully comprehended only by those who undertake it.
Despite these catastrophic circumstances, Brian, Becca, and their parents face down every day with courage and resilience. Difficult only describes the top layer of their situation. They have our total respect.
Fortunately, injuries this severe are not the typical spinal cord injuries that happen 17,000 times a year in the U.S. Unfortunately, when they do occur, it is difficult to find support and any kind of peer group. Feeling isolated gets added to the long list of adversity. We’re extremely happy that Neuroworx can be a place where two wonderful people like Brian and Becca can find comradery and connection. Only those who “go through the storm” really understand.
For the past nineteen years Neuroworx has provided specialized neurological rehabilitation for individuals experiencing paralysis. Our mission also includes creating a place of hope and healing. We are extremely grateful for the many individuals, groups, and organizations that generously support our work. Thank you for being a part of what we do every day.
We found 1, but we are still hiring!

Our Commitment.
Neuroworx is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit charity that operates as a community-based, outpatient physical and occupational therapy clinic to provide specialized rehabilitative care for children and adults affected by paralysis due to spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, stroke, cerebral palsy and similar neurological conditions.
Physical therapist Jan Black PT, MSPT and Dale Hull MD co-founded Neuroworx in 2004 as a single 1,000 square foot room with only a few pieces of simple equipment. It expanded to 4,000 square feet in 2010 and then moved into a custom designed 24,500 square foot facility in August of 2015.
Neuroworx was conceived and operates on the principle that more progress is possible if individuals with these conditions are given access to specialized expertise and equipment and, most importantly, additional time. This commitment to extra time requires Neuroworx to pursue funding to carry out its mission of providing everyone the opportunity for the best possible outcome.
