Unbelief= Disobedience
Belief brings rest. In Hebrews, we read of rest and that God calls us to rest in faith. Trust God and your spirit will find the peace of God that nothing else brings.
This world brings strife, fear, and anxiousness. Believing Christ died for your sins, that He took on as the sacrificial lamb for your debt. When you turn from your sin to the Savior, placing full faith and trust in Him you will enter His rest and find His strength in the hardest of times on earth and the eternal rest of Heaven when the time comes.
Today is the day to trust God. For some, it's one more day added on to many. For some, it's the first day of your eternal security. Feel free to contact us to talk about your next steps!

Today, we were able to thank our community teachers in our Lifeway family. We love and appreciate teachers. They are raising up leaders and contributors to our society. We had a few not in service today due to illness or travel, but please know we are thankful for all of you!

We are excited to let you know about our 2024 Promise Conference for Women Worship Team! Candace Lorraine Nance Essick is coming back! She has been a part of blessing us through music from the beginning! We are thankful for her return. Kate Lewis will be joining in to continue the blessings and they will be complemented by our musicians Daniel Krazeise on acoustic guitar, Josh Pando on drums and Justin Carson on electric guitar!

In 1 Kings 18, we see Elijah full of boldness as He stands before King Ahab and hundreds of false prophets declaring the Lord's power and true Kingship. He didn't back down because His confidence was in the Lord!
After an intense time, we later see Elijah recoil and retreat at the word of Jezebel.
Why the difference? He forgot! Yes, he quickly forgot Who he served!
We do that sometimes, don't we? We forget we can pray, listen, trust, stand, speak, and rest in the strength of our God, before anyone!
As Corrie Ten Boom, survivor from N**i war camps, said, "If you look at the world, you'll be distressed. If you look within, you'll be depressed. If you look at God, you'll be at rest." (Read the Hiding Place about her story of courage, trust, and yes, not trusting at times, for encouragement).
Where do you need to walk in obedience and listen for God's peace, trust His hand, and rest in His presence today?

Aren't you thankful Jesus came and took on the full wrath to save us? We must turn from our sin (repent) fully trust in the finished work, confessing of Christ through His death, burial and resurrection to be saved, receive His Holy Spirit within, and walk with Him daily until the time of leaving this earth for Home.
God really loves us! He provided the Way, even after our rebellion.

God's work in our lives is to make us look more like Him. Are we allowing Him access? Are we doing what He's told us to do or not do in His Word? Are we walking in obedience through doors He's pointed us to and leaving rooms He does not want us to be in?
May we seek first His Kingdom and righteousness to better know Him and make Him known!

Waiting on the Lord, trusting Him with our future more than dwelling on our past failures, can seem impossible! If our focus is on our problems, it is impossible, but if we are waiting on the Lord, remaining in step with His Spirit, we will continue leaning in and focusing on Him more. We will find our peace and strength in Him in the wait.
No, the waiting isn't easy, but Jesus told us we would have trouble in this world. Thankfully, this world is not the end for those in Christ. We have an eternal Hope and Home in Christ Jesus.
Are you willing to trust Him completely, even when the valley is so desparing? He is faithful and good. Wait for Him. Yes, wait for the Lord.
