John said that he’d love to see some Monarchs. For those who are available to visit, please join us on Sunday, April 30, Noon - 4 PM.
Friends and family of John’s have coordinated with the facility to open a large room and outdoor space for visiting with John between noon and 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 30.

Proud of Class of 2002 Alumnus Michael Gallagher on his re-election into the United States Congress!
I am honored and humbled by the trust Northeast Wisconsin has placed in me for another term. This year has brought unprecedented challenges, and I have witnessed Northeast Wisconsin meet those challenges head-on, with courage and compassion. This virus has upended our daily lives. It's changed the way we work, the way we take our kids to school, and the way we worship. And tonight, it's changed the way we celebrate our elections.
But while the virus can spoil a party, it cannot change our character as a community and a country. Here in Northeast Wisconsin, no matter what the challenge, we work together to get through it and protect those we love.
We will get through this challenge and emerge stronger on the other side. I know we can get Northeastern Wisconsin’s economy thriving again, we can break through the partisan gridlock in Washington, D.C., and we can fix what’s broken in our healthcare system.
I have always treated my time in Congress like a deployment, not a career. I promise to spend the next two years fighting for principled solutions to problems so that Northeast Wisconsin remains the best place in the country to raise a family and America remains the greatest country on earth.
On Wisconsin and God Bless America.
We received news of the death of Mr. Bill Matthews, former teacher and Chair of the Science Department. Bill worked at MDHS from 1968-2013, 45 years. Bill also worked closely with the architects when we built the new 700 Science wing of the school where many students and teachers enjoy the study and work of Science today. May Bill now rest in God’s eternal peace.

On this Thankful Thursday, we are honored to share the story of an alumnus who is giving back both as a teacher in our Religious Studies Department and as a donor to financial aid. A member of the Class of 2009, Mr. Alec Sixta has quickly become a student favorite on campus since he joined our faculty several years ago. Alec, we are grateful to you for coming home to Mater Dei and for your generous spirit in giving back to your alma mater.
“Giving back means that I can provide an opportunity to a student who wants to receive a Catholic education and has a passion to change their community and the world by being a disciple of Christ and the Earth”

On Tuesday July 21st, just after 6:30 pm, the Chino Police Department received a 911 call regarding a possible drowning. The residents 20-month-old son Eden was found unresponsive in the pool. K9 Officer Rowland, a Mater Dei High School alumnus, was first on scene and immediately took over CPR from the child’s mother. During chest compressions, Eden began to respond and opened his eyes. K9 Officer Rowland continued first aid until CVIFD Paramedics arrived and took over care. Eden was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital where he later started breathing on his own and was conscious and alert.
Due to the quick response and actions by K9 Officer Rowland and CVIFD personnel, we are happy to report that Eden has made a full recovery! Eden, his mom, and sister stopped by the station to drop off goodies and meet K9 Officer Rowland’s partner, Kobra.
No matter where you are in the state, the nation, or the world, we invite all Monarchs and their families and friends to participate in Mater Dei’s Inaugural Virtual 1K-5K-10K. More information about this fun, virtual event coming soon. For now, all you have to do is save the date, spread the word and start your training!
