THE PATHWAY TO VICTORY

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end is the way of death." (Prov 14:12)

Many of our troubles occur because we base our life choices on unreliable authorities, such as:

1. Culture: Everybody is doing it. (Rom 12:2 TM) "Don’t become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without…thinking."

2. Tradition: We have always done it this way. (Lk 5:38) "New wine must be put into new wineskins."

3. Reason: It seems logical. (Prov 3:5-6) "Lean not to your own understanding."

4. Emotions: It just feels right. How can it be wrong when it feels so good?

All these are flawed because they come from within us and around us, but not from God. What we need is a perfect standard that will never lead us in a wrong direction.

The Word will never mislead us! (Jam 1:25) "But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty (the WORD of God) and continues in it and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does." (Psalm 37:4-5) "Delight yourself also in the Lord, trust also in Him (our Part) and He shall bring it to pass (God’s part). Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him (our part), and He shall bring it to pass (God’s part)."

Commit Your Way To The Lord

1. Commitment is a function of faith. Like a child who leaps off the top bunk into daddy’s arms. Once they have committed to the jump, there is no going back to the safety of the bunk. But they do it because they totally trust their father. We need to trust the Father’s arms! (Mk 10:15-16)

2. Commitment is the place where the biggest battles are fought. Moses sent twelve tribal leaders of Israel into the Promised Land to spy it out and bring back a report. Ten came back with an evil report and two came back with a good report. Ten focused on the problem and two focused on God’s promise. "As you have spoken in My ears, so I will do to you." (Num 14:28)

3. Commitment is the place of separation: The Ten and the Two! Your commitment to anything will always separate you from those who aren’t prepared to commit. Eventually you will part ways with those who just won’t put their money where their mouth is.

4. Commitment is the place were God reveals Himself. (Dan 3: 12-30) Daniel’s three friends answered the king and said, “If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from your hand, but if not let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the golden image which you have set up.” They were bound and thrown into the fiery furnace. Later Nebuchadnezzar said, “Did not we cast in three men bound into the midst of the fire? Look and now I see four men loose, walking amid the fire and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

When you stand up for Jesus, He will show up for you!

Yours for the Victory in 2024!

MOUNTAIN TAKING, HISTORY MAKING, WORLD CHANGERS!

Joshua 14:12 “Give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day.” Caleb at 85 years of age was still taking mountains and defeating giants. “Caleb said, he who attacks Kirjath Sepher and takes it, to him I will give Achsah my daughter as wife.” (Jos 15:14-16) Caleb wanted his daughter to marry a mountain taker.

God Has A Caleb Project For All His Potential Champions

1. Make sure you’re climbing the right mountain. The one the Lord has promised you. Know the promise that the Lord has made real to you, have it hidden in your heart, and be ready to act upon it. Mid-life crises happen when people climb for 20-30 years only to find out they have their ladder up against the wrong wall! It is said that 80% of the majors in universities are in the undecided group. It is wise to take time in a good Bible College and find out who you are and what your specific mountain is, so that you can, “Walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.” (Eph 4:1) The biblical definition of success is: knowing what God has called you to do and seeking to excel in it.

2. Mountain climbers start with small ones first and then go on to larger ones. The peak-to-peak principle is this: from the peak I can see more than I can in the valley. So, on the mountain top, change your direction and in the valley change yourself. Some make good decision after good decision, and some make bad after bad. The difference is in when you make the decision! “...every branch that bears fruit, he purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” (John 15:2)

3. Understand the Principles and the Process of getting to the top. It takes courage to start, then commitment and consistency, if you want to finish anything. If you take a step in the right direction and keep doing it often enough and long enough you will eventually get there. It takes hard work, patience, and good decisions. “Through faith and patience [you will] inherit the promises.” (Heb 6:12) We tend to be more outcome than process conscious. God is more process conscious than outcome conscious. He knows how it will turn out for you if you go through the process.

At 17 years of age Joseph had a dream. He was 30 years of age before it began to become a reality. But a right heart attitude kept him moving in the right direction. “Until the time that his word came: the Word of the Lord tested him.” (Ps 105:19) Don’t get stuck in a phase that was only meant to be part of the process.

The Process goes like this: the Promise, the Problem, the Principle, the Provision!

David, at 17 years of age, was anointed to be king with the anointing of promise, by the prophet Samuel. The problems he had to overcome included the giant Goliath, the madness of King Saul, and a deeply divided nation. The principle was that David faithfully trusted in God and never gave up. At Ziklag (1 Sam 30), David faced the worst day of his life. But just 3 days later he was anointed king over Judah! From Hebron David took the stronghold of Jerusalem and made it Mount Zion - the City of David, uniting the nation. The provision was the blessing and power of God to rise above kings and giants and make history as Israel’s greatest king!

Caleb and David were both Giant-Killing, Mountain-Taking, World-Changing, History-Makers!

Now it’s Your time, Its My time, It’s Our time, its Manifestation time!

Yours for fulfilling God’s call,

FRUITFULNESS, MULTIPLICATION, AND DOMINION

God’s first words to mankind are recorded in Genesis 1:28 “Be fruitful, and multiply and have dominion.” Whatever multiplies the most will have dominion. At a recent national director’s meeting we were given a prophetic word, “The fruit is in the root.” To me this means two things. First, that God wants to make us fruitful, as individuals and as a movement. Secondly, the key to becoming exceedingly fruitful, as a movement, is to stay tied to our roots.

1 No Roots – No Fruits. If you cut a plant off from its roots, it will die. When we reflect on our past, we need to learn from our failures and build on our successes. Some things we need to remember and some things we need to forget! (Phil 3:10) “This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and pressing on…”

The Victory Movement is built on a unique root-system of zeal for God, bold vision, and daring faith. As long as we’ve stayed connected to our roots, God has blessed us and has made us very fruitful. This prophetic word is exhorting us to remember our roots and continue to draw our direction, inspiration, and strength from them.

2 Be Fruitful and Multiply. Remember, whatever multiplies the most has dominion! If you are a believer, then multiplying means leading other people to Christ. If you are a leader, it means raising up and releasing others into leadership. If you are a church or a movement of churches, it means continually planting more and more new churches and ministries.

We need to have a vision for growth! Great hope and vision for the future releases great power in the present. Biblical hope is a confident expectation that God will do what He said He will do. Today’s victories and breakthroughs are a result of yesterday’s obedience. A Word from God can reveal potential and release creativity and power to succeed in what God has called you to do. John 1:1, 1Cor 2:9-13

3 Multiplication Brings Dominion. If we allow ants to multiply in our kitchen, it won’t be long until they have dominion over the whole house! But the Bible says we are to learn from the ants. (Pro 6:6) Ants are zealous! You will never see a lazy ant. They are determined to build, and they don’t waste any time doing it. They think ahead and prepare for the future and then work diligently to bring it to pass. And they will fight fiercely to defend what they’ve built!

In 1 Samuel 30, David and his troops returned to Ziklag, which means a place of overwhelming despair. “David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep.” But David didn’t give up! Instead, he asked the Lord, “Shall I pursue this troop?”; And when God answered, “Pursue” - David pursued, David attacked, and David recovered all. As a result, David and all Israel with him, rose to a place of dominion.

Root-fulness causes Fruitfulness; which produces Multiplication; which brings Dominion!

Yours for being fruitful, multiplying, and having dominion!

OUR APOSTOLIC/PROPHETIC FOUNDATION!

“He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers.” - Eph 4:11-16

From the beginning Victory Churches has sought to build on a foundation of fivefold ministries. Jesus Himself was the embodiment of the fivefold ministry. But when he ascended, He divided His ministry on the earth into five segments and delegated them to these five ministry gifts to equip, empower, and mobilize the church to do His will and His works on the earth. The 120 in the upper room in Acts 2 were not all apostles or fivefold ministry gifts, but all were apostolic people – people who would go were they were sent, stay were they were put, and do what they could until they got fresh orders from Heaven.

The church was designed to be an apostolic company. (1 Cor 12:28) “God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets…” The word ‘first’ is the Greek word 'protos’ where we get our word prototype from, which means ‘first in order’. It is the primary anointing in the church. (Eph 2:19-22) “…The church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets...” One reason for the success of the Victory Movement is that my gift is apostolic, and my wife’s is prophetic.

We came to believe that when you release the whole five-fold, you release the whole church to reach the whole world! These ministry gifts are still critically necessary for the church today!

- Apostles – look forward at growth possibilities
- Prophets – look inward at spiritual conditions
- Evangelists – look outward at the harvest
- Pastors – look over the condition of the flock
- Teachers – look after all the details

These gifts are intended to complement, not compete with one another! (Acts 11: 25) “Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul”. Barnabus understood his own limitations, so he looked for someone who had what he lacked.

How do you know what your gifting is? In Luke 6:44 Jesus said, “For every tree is known by its own fruit.” As long as a tree is healthy and in a suitable climate, it will produce fruit naturally and effortlessly. In other words, you are not an apostle or prophet simply because you want to be one! God gives these gifts to the body of Christ as He wills, and we identify them based on the kind of fruit they consistently produce.

Victory Is A Fivefold Movement

1. A Strong Commitment to the Word of God keeps the movement well-grounded.
2. A High Priority on Covenant relationships keeps the movement together.
3. An Emphasis on Visionary Purpose keeps it moving forward.
4. The Effective Working Together of the Fivefold ministry keeps us fruitful - constantly producing new leaders and new churches.

God sends apostolic leaders, they release apostolic people into the harvest, and all operate in a degree of apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral, and teaching anointing.

Great grace and great power came upon them all!
