We just got news that during this year's Coastal Cleanup Month with Explore Ecology, 771 volunteers picked up 3,889 pounds of trash and debris from our local neighborhoods, parks, and beaches.

The most common items found were food wrappers, cigarette butts, and plastic pieces.

We'd also like to congratulate Jim on his Creek Week City of Santa Barbara Creeks Division chalk art (photo below!) and winning a $50 gift card to dine with us!!

Creek Week is nearing an end, but there's still some fun to be had!

Today at 3pm join the City of Santa Barbara Creeks Division for a Water Pollution Observation Lab (Kids Activity) on Facebook Live!

You can still participate in Coastal Cleanup Month by heading out to clean up your neighborhood, favorite park, trail, or beach. Be sure to upload your cleanup data on the Clean Swell app and note Explore Ecology as your group!

And finally, you have the rest of the weekend to get out to your nearest storm drain and create some art for our Storm Drain Chalk Art Contest! We have great prizes lined up including gift cards to Clean Creeks Certified Businesses (check out the list at www.sbcreeks.com), SB Shellfish Co., and a pass to this year's virtual NatureTrack Film Festival!

It's Coastal Cleanup Month and we have partnered with the Restore Ecology Team to protect our waterways and encourage you to do the same!

We are giving away FREE CUPS OF CHOWDER when you tag us (Santa Barbara Shellfish Co) in your clean-up pics on social media!!

Cleanups will be at home and self-guided through the month. Your effort will make a huge difference to our coast so do your part in protecting your happy place!
