Great time today meeting with these amazing young women and their proud Mom ☺️ . The non profit "Tidings for Teens" was started by twin sisters, Jessica + Kaylin Mai when they were only 8 yrs old!!! WOW so impressive!! They support kids in foster care in SCV and AV with gifts in an effort support to empower them. Learn more about them and their mission! (Link to their website in comment section).

Its so important as a Non profit to support others and collaborate to help those in the community that may fall through the cracks or experience an unexpected crisis situation. That is where we kick in! We can fill the gap and offer support when a non profit has a client in need and their needs fall outside of the framework of available support or resources. We are proud of what we have done and what we will continue to do for those in our community who find themselves in need.

Its important as a Non Profit to reach out to other organizations in our community and learn about them!!
I had the pleasure of meeting a "new to me" Non Profit last week called Agape Village. This organization is working to serve a very special need in SCV! Tim and Jessica began this program in the Fall of 2021 with a small group of loving parents and teachers who wanted a place for our special friends with special needs to grow socially, emotionally, vocationally, and independently! Agape is a day program for Adults with special needs, wanting to fill a void in our valley and create an environment where they could not only be met where they are at, but challenged to be the best version of themselves daily! This non-profit program is designed to help clients become more functional and independent in the following areas: Social Skills, Life Skills, Adaptive Skills, Transportation Training, Bible Skills, Adaptive Fitness, and Culinary Arts. Within our facility, we also run a coffee shop business called JustBrewIt, which is completely run and operated by our clients. We also have a heat press business to make and sell all types of merchandise, and our clients are the ones learning how to use the heat press and make all of the orders! Check them out!!!

What a great experience spending time with local SCV HS students at the "Get Real Adulting 101" put on by JCI at Child & Family Center. 161 students played and learned about financial responsibilities! Students had incredible feedback and walked away with knowledge about cost of living, taxes, credit scores and much more. It was an incredibly rewarding event helping these kids prepare for their future. Thank you Kari Suarez for including me :)

What a fantastic first 2024 VIA luncheon! An excellent presentation from SCV Mayor Cameron Smyth on what we'll see from the City of Santa Clarita in 2024. VIA is such an incredible organization and I am proud to represent The Baker Family Foundation and serve on The Education Committee.
