EARTHQUAKE & EMERGENCIES

This post is long as hell, but trust me, you won't regret reading.

Many of use never think of famine or if we have another earthquake.

We are watching natural disasters around us and we think "thank God that wasn't here", but what does happen here?

I used to conduct educational workshops. Earthquake workshops were my favorite. After surviving Northridge earthquake and my own personal house fire as a child, I have always kept certain things in my home at all times.

This is a list of ideas and items from my home to yours.

🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏽‍♀️PRACTICAL PRACTICES🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏽‍♀️

1. Walking in your home in the dark eyes closed. Learn the layout. Make sure you have flameless tea light candles hidden throughout house. It's scary, but also teach your children, especially the ones that can take over in a emergency

2. Keep those extra bags that we get tired of seeing around the house. Use them to dispose of any food that goes bad, toileting products or trash in general
3. Make sure you have charcoal or gas for grill-you might need to cook food up .
4. YOU WILL NEED to seek a village in an emergency. Go talk to your neighbors so they know your face and who you are. And if you don't do it now, make sure that you come out in an emergency to check in. You may be each other's rescue team.
5. Make a backpack for each family member. It's good to have an abundance of products for family, but make sure each family member has one backpack filled with items for 1-2 weeks

🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾Share Share Share! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Sadly, we our first an individualistic culture, sometimes thinking of ourselves.

I see people post others misfortunes and information that serves no use.

Please feel free to share this information with your friends or families.

Here are some links. Visit your local Dollar Tree or amazon.com to obtain safety backpacks. My list is affordable so you can piece together items needed at a. lower cost. However, you can purchase Pre made bags. You can modify this list so that it serves your family

Hello Friends and Family,
I am in Lagos prepping for our new Library. Grand Opening will be Summer 2021

03/10/2021

Good morning Friends and family,
This is my total networking post this morning. As we are attempting to open a storefront library we need some help with the following:

1. We need a couple of banners made (donated if possible. If you know anyone who would be willing to donate banners to our nonprofit that would be a beautiful gift or if you would like to sponsor having the banner made please direct message me.

2. We have been blessed with books and DVD’s being donated so far. Please keep them coming-new and gently used-children, teen, young adult. Honestly we are accepting most books. A simple look throughout your house or a small purchase on amazon would be such a blessing. Please remember to purchase through smile.amazon and put “Shake To Life Center” as your nonprofit and a percentage of proceeds will go to out nonprofit

3. ****MOST NEEDED****Shipping is outrageous to Nigeria but well worth the end result. We have a go fund me, business zelle, cashapp, and Venmo. If you would like to contribute, please direct message me or just send. In the memo please put “Library in Africa or African fundraiser”.

4. You can also start your own fundraiser on FB and put Shake To Life in Canyon Country. We are registered and verified. FB gives 100% of proceeds to nonprofits FYI

All gifts and donations will receive a letter per request.

I appreciate all of you who share and gift to all of my personal and non profit causes.

I cannot express my gratitude and awwww for you enough. Meet Denice, she is one of our team members here at Shake To Life Center. From the moment that she joined she has been working overtime making things happen-running around town grabbing donations, telling her friends about us, making posts about our nonprofit. She exemplifies what a true team player looks like.
She has been working so much to keep her own family afloat during this time, yet her heart has still be on us. Denice makes inexpensive, homemade doggie treats and has pledged to donate $1 of every bag sold back to us. Did I mention her beautiful heart and that she is the best mama? Please support her, which also supports us..
Thank you Denice for your first donation...my cup runneth over

Simple Ways To Support Us:
Fundraisers from the comfort of your home:
1. Purchase all your amazon products through https://smile.amazon.com. When prompted choose “Shake To Life Center” in Canyon country as your non-profit of choice. Amazon will donate a percentage of all your proceeds.
2. Facebook-on your birthday Facebook will allow you to start a fundraiser on behalf of a non-profit organization. Please choose us and 100% of all proceeds will go to us.
3. Private donations-at any time you can reach out to us and make a private donation through venmo, cashapp, zelle, and/or paypal.
4. Save & Collect! Collect & Donate! We are an education and career-based organization. Books, tablets, laptops, supplies and any other educational material can change the life of a struggling student or adult that needs support. Please think about us and share with your friends.
5. Purchase Denice’s dog treats. They support her household and our nonprofit

Super Late...

This month is a special month. This is the month that spring starts and seasonal depression starts melting away with the ice. You may feel some new energy and purpose. It is important to pace yourself in all that you do. Balance and Consistency is the key to starting Spring, starting this month and also ending our challenge.
Balance your professional and personal lives. Learn to be present in each so that they do not spill over into the other and cause imbalance.
Be consistent in Showing Up for yourself in your personal and professional lives so that you are your best self. We spend plenty of time feeling guilty for the imbalances in our lives but that’s self indulgent. Yes, self-indulgent. You are power, You have the power to change and make each of your environments healthier and more productive. Take preventative measures to avoid burnout.
I am here and hear for you. Use March as a spring board into the rest of Your year! Now Go and make me proud. I love you!
