🚨 Last night we had a medical emergency (out of the water) at one of our locations and we would just like to take this time to give a round of applause 👏 to our TEAM that executed the Emergency Action Plan, remained calm, and showed outstanding teamwork throughout the incident.

⛑️Every month we hold a training meeting, which always includes some of the following: Activating the EAP; CPR/First Aid/AED/Choking; responding to seizures, heart attacks, natural disasters evacuations, etc; & lifeguard rescues and scenarios. The majority of our staff are Red Cross certified Lifeguards and/or CPR, First Aid, & AED.

Unfortunately, we had to put this training to use but we couldn’t be more thankful that we hold these trainings, and we couldn’t be more proud of our team.🙌 We will always keep Safety our #1 priority, and will continue to train for the unexpected.

Once a towel becomes wet it will be extremely heavy and can make it difficult for them to swim to the surface 😱 When your child gets out of the pool, make sure the towel is under your child’s arms and not on top! If by accident they end up in the water, they will still have access to their arms to get themselves out of the pool safely 🙏🏼

Age is just a number! How inspiring!

With immense pride and joy, I announce that my wife, Tayler, and I, Dakota, have purchased/taken the reins of the Academy Swim Club family business from my beloved parents, Jim and Nikki 🤯

We are excited and determined as we step into this new role as owners, and are very grateful for the foundation of integrity and dedication Jim and Nikki have instilled in us over the years. Their mentorship has prepared us to carry forward their legacy of excellence in serving our community🙌🏼

We had a great time at our first International Swim School Association conference. As owners, we will always continue to learn and improve our business to best serve the community 💙

In 1994, Jim and Nikki Miller had returned from a lunch date and after the babysitter had left, they saw wet clothes and vomit on the deck of their spa. Apparently, their 1 year old, Dakota, had crawled into the spa while the babysitter was inside the house on the phone. Their barely 4 year old swimmer Garrett, unable to reach him or stand on the bottom of the spa, jumped in and pulled his brother from the spa alone, saving his life, but only after Dakota ingested lots of water. What horrified both Jim & Nikki, was they knew this could have easily resulted in a double drowning. Since then, both Nikki & Jim decided that water safety education would be a big part of their lives, doing whatever they could to help prevent these tragic events from occurring. And as the new President, Dakota has also felt the need to give back and do his part in drowning prevention. 🛟 🏊‍♂️

The owners & founders of Academy Swim Club, Jim & Nikki Miller, have officially retired! 🎉
