SoCal Physical Therapy is lucky enough to have DJ perform acupuncture on those that need it!

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical practice involving the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate various physiological and therapeutic effects. These points are typically located along pathways known as meridians, believed to carry vital energy called "qi" or "chi" throughout the body. By manipulating these points, acupuncturists aim to balance qi flow, promoting health and well-being. Acupuncture is used for pain management, stress reduction, and various conditions like headaches and musculoskeletal disorders. While it is effective, the precise mechanisms of how acupuncture operates remain a subject of ongoing research and investigation.

Meet the Physical Therapists!

Dr. Dongwon Jahng (DJ), DPT, LAc, CSCS
DJ is the owner of SoCal Physical Therapy, Inc. and received his doctoral degree in physical therapy from USC and his masters degree in Oriental Medicine from Kyungsean University. Along with practicing physical therapy, DJ also performs acupuncture. He combines the best of Western and Eastern medicine to help patients rehabilitate fully and quickly.

Dr. Andrew Tusaazemajja, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS
Drew played soccer for UCLA when completing his bachelor’s degree. When at UCLA, he suffered through multiple injuries, spiking his interest in physical therapy. Drew then completed his doctoral degree in physical therapy at Western University of Health and Sciences in 2019.

Dr. Mackenzie Marler, PT, DPT
Mackenzie was part of the Valencia High School Sports Medicine Program (now known as the Valencia High School Medical Science Academy) during her high school years which gave her the opportunity to work as an aide at SoCal Physical Therapy before college. She then was eager to pursue physical therapy as a career. Mackenzie received her doctoral degree in physical therapy at Azusa Pacific University in 2022.
