What better way to celebrate #worldturtleday 🐢 then a quick video of our biggest #rescue to date! One year ago we were able to assist in a massive animal welfare rescue alongside The Wild Animal Sanctuary and The US Fish and Wildlife Service to rescue over 250 reptiles, 83 of which were turtles and tortoises, from Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷 Check it out!

Gorgeous boa constrictor on the highway in Puerto Rico. Unfortunately these boas aren’t native but invasive and are taking over on the island.

A special siting just after world Gooher Tortoise Day. 🥰

The perimeter fencing is going with the break in rainy weather!

As the new year begins we look back at the biggest project of #2023 in Puerto Rico, where we rescued over 250 reptiles from the island. We came to call at the drop of a hat with little knowledge of the situation. It was quickly obvious that with the lack of resources and funds the animals were not able to be properly cared for and in desperate need of help. It was a proud moment when each animal had been crated for transport to the US. Upon arrival they received health assessments, veterinary care, soaked to hydrate, appropriate housing and food. Most have now been adopted by caring families but a few still remain and are waiting for that special someone to adopt them. Are you that someone?! As we begin #2024 the possibilities are endless for the affect we can have on turtles, tortoises, and reptiles in need as well as our ability to support conservation and improve the standards of care for all captive chelonians. #letsdothis #weneedyoursupport #wecantdoitwithoutyou #adopt #donate #support #share #itallhelps #thankyou #reptilerescue #conservation #captivecare #reptiles #turtle #turtles #tortoise #tortoises #snake #snakes #lizard #lizards #rescue

Silly dragon getting a sip during her soak.

We are thankful for all your generous donations and support as we launched the nonprofit this year. Big thank you to all who made monetary contributions, provided supplies and food, adopted rescues, and lent a hand. We couldn’t do this without you and are looking forward to another great year and getting started on some tortoise research projects. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We have exiting news! The rescued red eared sliders are now up for adoption. If you’re interested in giving one or more of these beauties a new home please message us for more information. #rescueturtle #rescue #RES #redearedslider #upforadoption #adopt
