Good first race on the new yz450fx, still getting used to the bike. But overall had a good time this weekend. Happy to earn 3rd open expert only a few seconds away from 2nd. Only minor mistakes loop 2 but it’s just me learning how to ride one of these big 450s.

Why is routine service a good idea? Suspension performance is dependent on the condition of your components. Some can wear prematurely and cause issues down the road. These CRF forks are prone to wear on the damper rods. When these wear the oil gets dirty and the cartridge can leak oil and it will degrade performance.

We just wrestled this 23 Crf250R apart for a chassis service. Relatively new bike with factory grease, had to make a custom puller to get the steering stem removed because of rust build up. Now it’s apart we will properly grease and prep the chassis and it will be good for another 6-12 months of riding and washing. How does your chassis look and feel?

If you know anything about removing the lugs on KYB forks then you know it’s not the easiest process. We used to have to end mill the preening off the set screw or grub screw to remove it. With our new 6mm peen tools this is a breeze. These were meant to remove the peen on the mid and base valves with 10mm nuts. What an awesome tool every suspension shop should have!
