If your body is sore, tired, and looking for a recharge, or you’re just looking for some gentle stretching and mobility work, then come to ‘s monthly Recovery Class this Saturday at 9AM to
get the relief you seek. In this class, you’ll reduce muscle tension and increase your range of motion and flexibility by utilizing your body’s movement, TRXs, and self myofascial release techniques with
foam rollers and tennis balls. It’s a fantastic post-workout and MRT-week recovery AND the perfect way to prep for the upcoming CozmoSize training cycle that starts March 4th!

We kick off 2024 with a guy who helped bring the new CozmoSize building to life with his handyman skills, Mr. Glenn Reeves! .reeves

Tell us a little bit about yourself: Hi, I am Glenn Reeves, and I have been a CozmoSize member for almost two years. I am mostly retired now but spent most of my career at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory building rovers for exploring Mars. My wife Claire and I have lived in Santa Clarita since 1988 where we raised our family of three sons and one daughter. Our first grandchild is now 15 months old, and we spend a lot of time traveling to the Denver area to see him. I am blessed to have a truly wonderful family. I enjoy my semi-retired life and spend my free time traveling, hiking, exercising, and working on my projects and hobbies. I have a passion for building and fixing things (I have an old project car in the garage that will eventually run again). Also, all three of my sons have their own houses that I help them work on, too.

What do you enjoy most about CozmoSize? This is such a simple and yet complex question. For me, CozmoSize is the community, the support, the challenge, the accountability, and the accomplishment. I really enjoy the workout structure and the way I am pushed to challenge myself every cycle. Matt’s program of mobility, movement, and strength keeps my old body moving. But, perhaps, what I enjoy the most is feeling like I am welcome and belong. Kudos to Matt and Kalena for making CozmoSize such a welcoming place to get healthy.

What goal do you have or want to achieve in 2024?
My goal is to stay active and healthy and be able to keep doing all of the things I love to do.

Tell us a little bit about yourself: My name is Ebony Calhoun, and I have lived in Santa Clarita for 15 years. I have many hobbies, one of them being going to the gym, and I’ve been a member of CozmoSize since 2014. I’m married to my college sweetheart and we have three beautiful children.

What do you enjoy most about CozmoSize? The classes are designed for everyone of all body shapes and different ages. I also love the group camaraderie and that we all have one common goal to achieve, which is to be a healthier, stronger version of ourselves. Oh, and did I mention that the results are amazing?!

September features one of our most consistent and long-time members, Bruce Krumrine!

Tell us a little bit about yourself: For those who don’t know me, my name is Bruce Krumrine. I have been lucky enough to train with since he began his four-day program. Thanks to Matt, I stayed in shape during my last few working years and have continued to stay in shape into retirement. I enjoyed a 40-year career at Princess Cruises where I was the Vice-President of Shore Excursions. I retired in 2020. My wife Julie also worked for Princess for over 30 years as the Vice-President of Public Relations. Yes, we were an office romance and Julie was the best thing that ever happened to me. We have been married for over 30 years and best friends for over 35 years. We moved from the Hollywood Hills to Santa Clarita in 1998 and raised our two sons, Duncan and Griffin, here. I can’t think of a better place to bring up kids. Now 30 and 25, they are great guys, and it seems, in some ways, like just yesterday when they were also working out with Matt.

I spent much of my working years traveling internationally, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I visited well over 100 countries and am fortunate enough to have friends and incredible memories from across the globe. As much as I enjoyed my career, retirement is terrific. It has allowed me to pursue a variety of interests that I never had time to do while working. That includes playing tennis and taking history and film classes at College of the Canyons. But, regardless of what I’m doing, I still start my day at with a group of fun and hard-working people with Matt kicking our butts and making us better.

Tell us a little bit about yourself: Hi Cozmo Crue! I’m Kelly AKA Kel-bel. I’ve been training with Matt for 3&½ years, and it has been a journey. Five years ago I weighed 260lbs and decided to have bariatric surgery. When I came to CozmoSize after my surgery, I was 145lbs and weak. Now I am 152lbs and have MUSCLE!

Outside of the gym, I enjoy leather working, crochet, riding horses, hiking, and attending renaissance fairs with my husband, both of us in full costume. I am currently working on a pirate-themed costume!

What goal do you have or want to achieve in 2023? I have a goal of starting my hang cleans at 95lbs. I’m almost there!

What do you enjoy most about CozmoSize? The camaraderie, support, and drive. I’m super happy that I found CozmoSize. I wouldn’t change it for the world. Thank you to my loving husband, Alfredo, for supporting me in my journey. Thank you to everyone for your support, and thank you Matthew Cather for having the drive that you do. Love you all!

Tell us a little bit about yourself: My Name is Eduardo Escobar, but everyone calls me Eddie! I am 37 years old. I was born and raised in El Salvador, and my family and I moved to Santa Clarita in 2002 when I was 16. My dad is a retired firefighter and my mom worked for the government in El Salvador. My sister is a Registered Nurse for LA County. I have been cooking since I was 16 years old and am a chef who owns Go Trucks Catering and 3 food trucks. Our trucks are always at local events, and you can find out where we’ll be here:

Recently I married the love of my life, and my darling wife works for the Hollywood chamber of commerce. That’s how I got to get up-close-and-personal with the sign (swipe for proof 😛)

Interests: cooking, music, sports, travel and cars. I’m a self-taught auto mechanic.

Hobbies: cars, gym, hiking and basketball.

What do you enjoy most about CozmoSize? The family atmosphere, the challenge of different workouts, seeing a group rising to the occasion, and the MUSIC!

What goal do you have or want to achieve in 2023? 20% body fat, cleaner diet, and to do pull-ups without assistance!

Tell us a little bit about yourself: Grew up in SCV. My first serious job was QA (quality assurance, basically play testing) at WayForward Technologies (we make video games), worked my way up to Level Designer where I've been since 2009. Hobbies include overanalyzing films, video games (for work, of course), and cooking (serviceable, but working on it). I'm kind of a homebody and like hanging out with my cats. Catch me at home on a Friday night browsing Netflix.

What do you enjoy most about CozmoSize? I like how it's judgment-free. It doesn't matter if I'm not lifting the heaviest in the room, there's no criticism.

What goal do you have or want to achieve in 2023? I'm my own worst enemy. Any goal I set and accomplish will just be followed up by a new goal. Currently, I want to lower my PBF to about 15% and increase my cardio (we'll see how possible that is).

Calling all student-athletes or parents of student-athletes! CozmoSize is excited to get summer training sessions under way for the athlete looking to improve his/her strength, speed, explosiveness, agility, and overall performance for his/her sport(s). Good morning, you friggin' athletic winner! Friendly reminder that this Friday, May 12th, we are doing inbody testing in the AM and then yoga & wine at night. Here are the deets:

For your inbody, please come in 10-15 minutes before your Friday morning class starts to get your test done, and come in fasted. Water & black coffee are OK :)

Then Friday evening at 6pm in the CozmoSize gym, we'll have a complimentary 1-hour recovery yoga class led by DRENCHED manager, Tamara, followed by CozmoSize Fitness Family hang time at a local wine bar called Wine 661. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before yoga starts to allow time for set up, and remember to enter through the side door of the building and bring your own yoga mat if you have one. We'll have a few mats at the gym in case you need one.

After yoga, for those interested, we'll head to Wine 661 for some post-yoga fun and beverages. For those new to Wine 661, it's is a local-owned, upscale, quaint and cozy spot to grab a glass of wine, bubbles, beer or a non-alcoholic beverage and small bites to enjoy with friends. Located in the Kohl's/Whole Foods shopping center on the corner of McBean & Valencia Blvd, you'll find it near Corner Bakery, Starbucks, and next door to Yogurtland. Look for a familiar face behind the bar that night :)

Tell us a little bit about yourself: Hi, I’m Ivy Manalang! I am an avid hiker, OCR adventure seeker, and lover of nature and the outdoors. A devoted mom and wife who works as a VP for a publications company, I don’t let my busy schedule stop me from pursuing my other passion: keeping fit and healthy!

What do you enjoy most about CozmoSize? I love that every workout consists of mobility, explosive movement, and upper and lower body focus. It’s a full body workout that targets all major muscle groups in one session. CozmoSize fitness is my roadmap to longevity!
