Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley
We are a non-profit organization working to transform the lives of local homeless families...because every child deserves a home.
Because No Child Should Be Homeless...
Through mobilizing community & faith groups, Family Promise of SCV works to assist homeless families to achieve sustainable independence, while offering hope, compassion, and preserving individual dignity.
An act of kindness can change everything. Thanks to an amazing donor, one of our families now has a brand new fridge, making a huge impact in their lives. Your generosity means the world!

🌟 Most Needed Monday 🌟
Your generous supply donations are making a BIG impact! In July alone, our Case Manager completed 29 supply pickups, and in August, 19 more—and that doesn’t even include the families currently staying in our interim house. These essential items are more than just necessities—they’re a lifeline.
When families receive your donations, it helps them focus on paying their rent, avoiding homelessness, or saving to pay off debt. Every bit counts towards helping them get back on their feet and move toward a more secure future. 🏠💪
Please consider donating today! Together, we can make a difference.
A huge thank you to Santa Clarita Girl Time for hosting last night’s movie night at Gilchrist Farms, benefiting Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley! We are incredibly grateful for your generous donations, which make a world of difference to families in need in our community.
Your support allows us to continue helping families facing homelessness. Just recently, we assisted a single mom and her two children who came to us after unexpectedly losing their home. Through the support of donors like you, we were able to provide them with temporary housing and connect them with essential resources. Today, they are thriving in stable housing, and the children are back in school.
Events like your movie night not only raise funds but also raise awareness about the pressing need to help families regain stability. Thank you for being part of this journey and for making a lasting impact on the lives of local families!

URGENT REQUEST:
We have a single mother and her 10-year-old son currently living in their car. With the extreme heat we are experiencing in Santa Clarita Valley, we urgently need to get them into a hotel for a few nights to provide some relief. Unfortunately, our hotel funding is running very low, and we need your help to support them.
If anyone is able to donate toward their hotel stay, any amount would make a huge difference and be deeply appreciated!
To donate, visit: https://familypromisescv.givingfuel.com/family-promise-donations
Thank you in advance for your help!!
We recently connected with a single mother and her eight-year-old son, who have been experiencing homelessness for the past nine months. They are currently staying in hotels through the DPSS hotel voucher program, but once the program ends, we hope to transition them into Family Promise’s interim house.
This mother is going through a divorce and, unfortunately, has been unable to maintain steady employment due to the instability of her housing situation. She has exhausted all her savings on hotel stays and is now at a breaking point, relying on a 14-day DPSS voucher as a last resort.
Our goal is to provide her and her son with a safe and stable environment so she can focus on securing employment and eventually work toward affording permanent housing.
This story highlights exactly why donations are so crucial. We can’t provide the support and resources families in these difficult situations need without the financial backing of our generous donors and sponsors. Your contributions help us give families like this single mother and her son a safe place to stay, the stability they need to get back on their feet, and a pathway to permanent housing. Every donation, whether one-time or recurring, makes a huge impact. If you’d like to support families like this, click the link to donate today!

Hey there, social media fam! We've got a special request, and we're crossing our fingers that someone out there can lend a hand!
A sweet family reached out to us, and they're in a bit of a pickle. Here's their story:
"I'm reaching out for myself, my kids, and my disabled mom. We’re all under one roof and, right now, we’re living paycheck to paycheck. Our fridge is on the fritz—the freezer isn’t freezing, and the fridge isn’t staying cold. I’m really worried it’s going to conk out completely soon. If anyone could help us replace it, or knows of a program that might, we’d be so grateful! I’m running out of options and could really use some assistance. Thank you so much in advance!"
So, here's where you come in! Do you have a good working refrigerator that’s just waiting to find a new home? Or maybe you’re up for the challenge of buying a new one for this amazing family? If you can help, DM us OR please shoot an email to Courtney at [email protected]. Let’s make this happen! 😊
We are running low on detergent and bleach. Anyone able to donate and help us restock our shelves? DM us or email [email protected] if you’re able to help.
Family Promise of SCV is currently accepting applications for a new Executive Director and hopes to have the position filled this fall. Those interested should send inquiries and resumes to [email protected].

A heartfelt thank you to our generous donors! Recently, we were able to help a mother ensure her son had the necessary clothing for his Job Challenge Academy uniform—a crucial step toward his bright future. Thanks to your Walmart gift card donations, she was able to purchase everything he needed. Your support makes it possible for us to meet the needs of those we serve, and we are excited to see what the future holds for this young man. If you’d like to donate a gift card and continue making a difference, please DM us!
🎉 Family Spotlight 🌟
We want to take a moment to recognize a truly incredible family that’s been part of our Family Promise “family.” Despite the challenges they’ve faced, including the unexpected loss of their home, they’ve shown unwavering determination and resilience.
Mom and Dad have been working four jobs between them, and thanks to their hard work, they’ve managed to pay off $8,000 in eviction debt and save $10,000! Now, they’re taking the next step forward by applying for a new place to call home. Their story is a powerful reminder that anyone can face tough times, but with the right support and relentless effort, recovery is possible.
We are incredibly proud of their progress and honored to walk alongside them on their journey. This is exactly what your donations—whether monetary or in-kind—help to support. It’s families like this, who, despite being dealt a tough hand, are doing everything they can to get back on their feet.
Help more families like this one by donating today. www.familypromisescv.org/donate
Thank you for believing in the work we do and for helping us make a difference in the lives of hardworking families.
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of our esteemed Executive Director, Dr. Roché Vermaak, who has been a part of the Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley family since 2017. Roché has been more than just a leader; he has been a driving force of compassion, dedication, and positive change within our organization.
Under Roché's incredible leadership, we have seen remarkable growth in our programs, staff, and finances that have strengthened our ability to serve homeless families. His commitment to our mission and his unwavering support for families experiencing homelessness in our community have left an indelible mark.
While we are deeply saddened to see Roché step down from his role, we are equally excited for the new opportunities that await him as the new Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity in Erie, PA.
Roché will continue to work behind the scenes in the interim doing the finances, fundraising, and grant writing, ensuring a smooth transition as we search for a new Executive Director. We are honored to have had him as part of our team for the past seven years, and we are grateful for the impact he has made.
Thank you, Roché, for your incredible service and dedication. You will be GREATLY missed. Please join us in wishing Roché all the best in his future endeavors
"When I started with Family Promise in 2017, we lacked the finances and staff to grow our programs. I've met my goals to grow our influence, increased our staff from 1.5 FTE to 4 FTE, significantly increased our income, bought an interim house in Castaic, completed our capital campaign, and our new resource center and four interim housing units will open in October. I could not have done this without the support of our board, various staff, donors, foundations and grant funders, congregations, businesses, volunteers, our Family Promise national staff and affiliates, the City of Santa Clarita staff and council members, Supervisor Katheryn Barger, and of course, Williams Homes. I'm excited to see Family Promise house even more families and provide them with services to exit homelessness permanently. THANK YOU!" - Roché Vermaak
This weekend, we were scheduled to have volunteers deliver groceries to the families staying in our interim house. Unfortunately, our scheduled volunteers can't make it this weekend. This leaves us in urgent need of help to ensure that our families have the essential items they need.
Groceries are more than just food; they provide a sense of stability and security for the families in our program. Your support in delivering these groceries helps create a comforting environment where they can focus on rebuilding their lives.
We’re looking for 2 volunteers who can purchase 1-2 bags of groceries (we can provide a "wish" list) and deliver them this Sunday (Aug 25). Your generosity will directly impact the well-being of the families we serve.
If you’re able to help or have any questions, please reach out to us as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support!
