Street Closures start at 12 pm on Halloween 10/31/23. There will be no vehicle traffic on Pacific Ave from Water St to Laurel St until November 1 2023 at 10:00 am.
City Lot 12, located between the Metro and Maple Lane posted no parking due to street closures.

Public parking is available to the downtown area in the parking garages and city lots adjacent to Cedar St and Front St in addition to usual parking outside of Cedar and Front St.

UCSC PD is deeply saddened to hear of the tragic murder of 30 year old Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer, who was reportedly shot and killed while sitting in his patrol vehicle outside the Palmdale Sheriff's Station on September 16th, 2023, at approximately 6 pm. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues and community during this devastating time.

On Saturday September 16th, 2023, the Santa Cruz County Chiefโs Association will be hosting a gun buy back event. The event will be held at the Sheriffโs Office Headquarters located at 5200 Soquel Avenue from 9 am to 1 pm. UCSC PD personnel will be there to assist.
This is a no questions, no identification needed event. If you have functioning guns that you do not need or want, come get cash while it lasts! Please ensure fi****ms are unloaded and safely transported when bringing them in.
