Hola Cabaña familia!

During our time off we have been faced with many obstacles and family emergencies. Recently a devastating accident claimed the life our our beloved family member, Elizabeth Marquez Baca in Colima, Mexico. She and her 15 year old twin boys collided with a double loaded semi-truck where she passed on impact and her boys survived with major injuries.

We are reaching out with heavy hearts and urgent plea for help. Fer, has an spinal injury which requires immediate surgery, but the medical expenses are overwhelming. We are turning to the generosity of our community to raise help in any way and contribute to his medical expenses to ensure he gets the care he needs.

Any donation will make a significant difference.Your support will not only cover the cost of the surgery, but provide hope an strength to Fer and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

We’ve see these boys grow up overnight handling their mothers death with grace, and be pillars to their aunts, cousins and grandma during this difficult time. Fer and his brother are kind hearted young boys, who loved their mother and have a deep understanding that everything happens for a reason. Fer is an avid soccer player with so much love and joy to give.

We wanted to take the time to thank everyone for reaching out and letting us know we are missed! We are very eager to get back to cooking and patiently waiting for our remodel to be done….

This winter we had a family emergency and some unexpected setbacks, but everything happens for a reason!

Thank you to all the local firefighters, paramedics, and everyone at Dominican Hospital- who gave us unconditional love and support during this time. We found so much comfort and strength recognizing our customers on duty.

We are so blessed to have so much love and support from our community! 🙏🏼🧡

Our main goal now is to surrender and allow things to bloom in their own time. We know that everything is working out for the best and for the greater good of our family and our reopening!

Construction updates:
The overall construction at the shopping strip was naturally stalled due to the holiday season and rain, but we are now seeing a lot more movement! (Gracias a Dios 🙌🏼)

At the same time we are working with our architects and finalizing our restaurant build out. We are almost done with designing and can’t wait for our construction to start! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

We will post as soon as we know more!

So many of you have been reaching out asking about our wellbeing and ready for us to open back up! We are under heavy construction, the crew is working hard on rebuilding our entire shopping center, and we are designing our new Cabaña. The end results will be amazing! 🙌🏼✨✨

In the meantime we continue to give thanks and look back at our last day before closing! We had so much fun throwing a fiesta and celebrating our new project! We have the best customers and continue to be eternally grateful!

Closing up a restaurant is always bittersweet… nostalgia today as we finish closing up and cleaning, taking down our menu board, art work, gathering our pots and pans, and storing our kitchen knives.

We are happy to have a small break, but sad to not be able to cook for you all! So excited for our new building to be updated, and for us to finally have a bigger and better kitchen! (*We will be reopening later at this location)

We are grateful for so many years at 2332 missions st- its small, quaint and rustic aesthetic added character y mucho amor to our little taqueria. This location holds so many memories! We survived covid, fires and other challenges- but its magic space provided a home for our customers to enjoy our comida Mexicana.

We can’t wait to see how the remodel turns out and we are certain que la magia, la comida y el amor Mexicano will remain the same!
