It was a slap. A slap to me is a statement, not violence. Unprofessional and inappropriate, ok, but calling this assault & violence is an insult to people dealing with real abuse, assault and violence and undermining their pain.
They’re 2 adult comedians on stage in the entertainment business taking shots at each other. This wouldn’t have been aired on national television without a warning disclaimer if they felt it was the violence so many of you are describing. Chris Rock took it like a champ, was laughing afterward, and is now selling out tickets on his tour.
Very judgmental and cruel to throw away someones incredible life work and accomplishments and try to withhold his well-deserved Oscar over a slap defending his wife.
We do not support violence as a company, and we urge you to imagine what we could accomplish TOGETHER as humans if we focused this kind of energy on things that actually matter!!!
