We are a Nonprofit, our mission is to promote adoptions, raise funds & support the Santa Monica Animal Shelter🐶🐱🐰🐢

08/27/2024

Adoption fees at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter are $20 through September 10th 2024🥳To adopt a pet please visit the Santa Monica Animal Shelter 📍1640 9th St, Santa Monica 90404 open Tues- Sat from 8am to 5pm (closed 12-1pm for lunch) ☎️(310)458-8595. Link to view a list of many of the available pets at: www.smasf.org/smanimalshelter The shelter has so many great animals that can’t wait to meet you!

We had a super Clear the Shelters Day on August 24th, but the shelter still has many sweet animals waiting to be adopted. Many of the dogs have been waiting over 6 months, some over a year, far too long to be in the stressful shelter environment. To help the animals at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter find wonderful forever homes we have decided to continue to subside the adoption fees through September 10th.

Not able to adopt a pet but want to help? Visit www.smasf.org to donate, shop the Chewy wishlist and learn more about us and how your donation makes a difference!

Fourth of July means fireworks and that means frightened pets 06/28/2024

Thank you so much Santa Monica Daily Press and reporter Scott Snowden for the great article and for all the support! 🐶🐱

https://smdp.com/2024/06/28/fourth-of-july-means-fireworks-and-that-means-frightened-pets/

Fourth of July means fireworks and that means frightened pets Pyrotechnics are invariably a part of the traditional celebrations, but to every pet all they do is cause unnecessary anxiety, panic and fear

06/28/2024

🐶🐱🇺🇸It’s time to celebrate the 4th of July. Although this is a very fun holiday it can be a stressful time for our furry friends. Here are some helpful tips to keep pets safe this holiday:

🐾Keep your pet indoors and your windows and doors closed. This will help dampen scary noises and keep them from running away; it is not uncommon for a pet to be scared and run away.

🐾Keep an eye on your pet to be sure they stay safe and do not get into anything they shouldn’t such as people food, sunscreen, glow sticks and alcohol.

🐾 Make a quiet and calming space in your home for your pet; a special space where they can be if they are stressed with their favorite blanket, toy etc.

🐾Make sure your pets microchip is up to date and that they are wearing their ID tags; if they do get out you want to make sure that you can be contacted and quickly reunited with your pet.

🐾Firework displays are not a fun experience for pets. So, please keep them safe and secure at home.

🐶🍓Donate to help Strawberry Flowers. The vet has determined that she needs surgery for a full hip replacement and we are going to be covering the cost of her necessary surgery. The estimate for the surgery is $10,500-$12,500, a huge number, but this surgery has to be done and we are going to make sure she gets all the care she needs🙏! To donate to help with her surgery and care go to www.SMASF.org

🍓Strawberry Flowers is also looking for her forever home. It would be incredible if she could recover in a home. She is a female, black and tan Belgian Malinois mix. The shelter staff think she is only around 10 months old. She arrived at the shelter as a stray and it is thought that at some point before arriving at the shelter she was injured, most likely hit by a car. To adopt her visit the Santa Monica Animal Shelter: 1640 9th St, Santa Monica 90404. Open Tues- Sat 8am- 5pm (closed 12-1 for lunch) (310)458-8595.

We have so much that we are helping the shelter with right now and your donation will allow us to continue to step in a help the pets at the shelter receive the care they need🐶🐱. Without your generous support we would not be able to help the animals at the All donations make a difference, no amount is too small. Thank you so much!!!
