It is with a broken heart we share the sudden passing of our beloved teacher David Newman.
David was a gifted musician, teacher and singer/songwriter. He was the embodiment of pure love, joy and grace. His warmth and beautiful presence will be greatly missed. Vrschikasana, or Scorpion pose is a forearm balance that involves a deep backbend. Before attempting this posture we must have a solid Pincha Mayurasana, forearm balance. Once the strength and control is found we begin to shift the weight of the hips in order to bring the feet into the direction of the head. Pushing into the forearms strongly to allow proper rooting and then opening through the chest to bend through the low back. You can begin practicing this pose against a wall.

Yes you do need arms that are active and strong, but an arm balance involves more than just the arms, its a symphony of strength coming from the core, the legs, the shoulders and side body muscles. The other strenght comes from the will power and focus to achieve it!

Meditating near water or in water enchances the experience 💫
Using the sound of water, or the waves, or the soothing sound of drops, helps to induce a meditative state.
Inside water you can meditate and experience being weightless, sinking and floating with your breath.
Try it and let us know how you feel!
Rise before the sun, connect with the earth, make your bed, drink tea, move your body.
Meditate, give thanks, tell your friends and family you love them, give someone a hug, give someone a smile.
Be playful, laugh at yourself, stay hydrated and treat your body with respect.

Boat pose variation!
Navasana or boat pose is a real core burner!
But not only at a physical level, by doing Navasana you are burning away impurities from the body and bringing awareness to your Solar Pleaxus chakra.
To begin this pose lift the legs with the knees bent and keep the heels at the height of your knees.
Do NOT let the chest close in!
Keep lifting through the chest and reach the arms with the palms open facing in.
Keep the arms at the height of your shoulders and feel the burn and ignite the inner fire!

Look for organic, local, and seasonal foods.
Visit your local farmers’ market or join a CSA – know who is growing your food!
3. ORGANIC IS MUCH BETTER.
Keep pesticides and chemicals off your plate.
It’s good for your body and for the environment.
4. COMMERCIAL PRODUCE IS OKAY.
Organic and local produce may not always be available.
Stay in the outer perimeter of the grocery store and try not to spend too much time in the inner aisles – that’s where all the packaged and highly re need foods are.
5.DON’T EAT FOODS YOU DON’T LIKE.
Choose foods based on your intuition.
Stay true to what works best for your body’s unique needs.
6.UNDERSTAND THE WAYS YOU ENJOY EATING.
Do you enjoy eating alone or with others? Do you avoid eating right when you wake up? Do you love eating an early dinner?
Learn the ways you enjoy eating.
You are responsible for your life. Of your decisions and self-discipline. Eating healthy is not suffering or much less punishing yourself.
It is choosing to feel better, choosing foods that nourish you knowing that you can still choose to eat ice cream, brownie etc 🍪🍔🍫 🍕 ➰🥝🍉🍒🥑🍍 🥗 🥒 ... It's okay to eat whatever you want when you feel like it the key is BALANCE and knowing how to listen to your body.😍❤️✨
